I remember watching the original That's Life, full of humour and that dog that could say "Sausages"
I also remember pleading to stay up on Sunday night, before school on Monday, and seeing the episodes with this great human being. Thanks to Esther I didn't do so well in my exams, but I think I'm a better person for it.
He's now in a better place, but what a person, a real hero.
The story I remember is his wife, knowing nothing of this history, discovering the scrapbook and realising it's importance, contacting others. I might be mistaken, it's decades ago, but if so, why change it for a film?
Now think of the families in this film, but being told to move to a safe place, then it's bombed, thats Gaza 2024. Sir Nicholas wouldn't be saying we are full, he'd be helping get the kids out.
30,000 dead, when will humanity learn.... And Esther's late husband, Desmond Wilcox, another great man. If you can find "A Boy Called David" that's a documentary you should watch.
