While this may not be the scariest movie ever made, its still entertaining, even after the 130th viewing. Thats the most important thing to me. By the time the audience gets to Nightmare 4 or Friday 6, they know the rules, they know the killer, so its not likely they will get scared. Might as well make for an enjoyable film with the things they came to see: bodies piling up, their favorite slasher and teens doing unbelievably stupid things that allows them to yell at the screen in protest! The special effects are superb and still hold up, the story continues nicely with the third, unlike the second, which the franchise steered clear from. The surviving Elm Street trio, Kristen, Kincaid and Joey are back and along with them are the most likable characters in horror movie history. See, NOES films were always good about having characters you actually cared about. It makes their deaths more harsh. The deaths, while not all that bloody are some of the more memorable ones. Nightmare on Elm Street 4 is a great edition to the already awesome original and part 3 (again lets not mention the dreaded 2nd film).
About a year ago, I came upon a delightful kids show called Wonder Showzen. Think Sesame Street for smarter kids. Episodes teach children about History, Nature, Health and the Ocean. They also show kids how hot dogs, TV dinners and money is made. The adorable puppets live in a happy land consisting of letters and numbers. Chauncey is the leader, and quite the snappy dresser (top hat and saddle shoes). Between puppet skit and cutesy cartoons involving A doggy doctor, the dangers of having a potty mouth, etc, there are "Kids Say the Darndest Things" type Q&A with the children. The things that come out of their mouths... Wonder Showzen isn't afraid to give the kids the facts, but while encouraging them to use their imagination and having fun adventures. Any way, it's nice to see a kids show that is insightful, intelligent and genuinely entertaining to watch. I would recommend this show to anyone who has small impressionable children. Wonder Showzen will make them worldly beyond their years, and cooler than the other kids in class. Wonder Showzen is the best kids show ever. And I am a liar.
I'd like to think I have a good, eclectic sense of humor. I am obsessed with Arrested Development, worship Strangers With Candy and own Simpson and South Park box sets. A couple years ago my sister downloaded the internet clip of Andy singing " The Super Bowl is Gay" song and we cracked up at the little idiot, so when we heard he was coming out with his own show, it could be good. It was't.I once saw an episode of this show a year ago and thought it was way lame. About a week ago I saw that MTV was about to play Wonder Showzen. High 5! I love that show, unfortunately there was about 20 minutes till it started so I decided to watch Andy's show. Not only did I not laugh, crack a smile or smirk, but I had to remind myself how poor I was and if I threw my TV out the window like I was tempted to, I would miss Wonder Showzen and The Daily Show. So while my Television is still in one piece I will NEVER suffer through the worst most pointless unfunny skit show I've ever seen.
