I would have given Adolescence an eight, but I was very annoyed by the stupid pretence of each episode being filmed in a single take. I knew something was wrong from early one in episode one, but it wasn't until the end of that episode that I realised what was happening me. I then spent the next episode looking for the "cuts" between scenes, which were both clever, but often obvious. It wasn't until the third episode that I started to concentrate on the story, which is a shame, as it is well written and acted, and it throws a vivid spotlight on what today's school kids have to deal with because of the internet. Then there is the family, and how they will have to deal with that same internet badness. Adolescence is certain to win many awards, but I still feel my six is justified.
