This is the story of a catastrophic brain injury and one woman's journey back to a life she can barely recognise. Clemency Burton-Hill has to find ways to accept or not the irreversible changes wrought upon her after a clot on her brain ruptures and leaves her comatose for 17 days. The documentary leaves us under no illusion of a miraculous recovery - rather a mammoth climb up a never-ending mountain, whilst dealing with not just the end of her previous life as a broadcaster and journalist but also as a hugely talented musician. The film is raw and tough to watch at times. Clemmie is inspiring, and I found myself willing her hands to grasp her bow to begin finding a way back to the true love of her life - music. I highly recommend this beautiful film.
I saw some reviews saying this was predicable and mediocre. I honestly don't know what those people watched because we thought this three part-er was so, so good.
The acting was excellent. The music was excellent. The direction was on-point. It was different, and very UN-predictable. It made us uncomfortable and anxious, which it was supposed to do. Something like this could so easily happen to anyone. That feeling of being helpless and at someone else's mercy is not something I would relish at all.
Bravo to all the team behind Fear - it was refreshing and intelligent and we absolutely loved it.

Oh dear god. I happened to wander in whilst my grandkids were watching this, just in time to see Camila whatserface's jaw wobbling up and down, and up and down. I assume she was miming to something. Why do people do this? Wobbling your jaw up and down does not in any way improve your singing voice - it just makes you look like a complete idiot. I was so enraged I wanted to punch her in the face. The songs are dismal, on a par with the script. Does anyone actually watch these things before they get released? Does no-one see how bad they are? It's an assault to the intelligence. The whole thing belongs in the basement, never to be seen again. 0/10.
