If this movie is any indication of what's coming in the future, we may have a world-class filmmaker at work. This is sophisticated, artful filmmaking, with a completely unexpected soundtrack. It's not for people who want action or superheros but who appreciate when things are done differently, creatively and artfully.

If you go in expecting a classical exorcism movie or any kind of horror movie, forget it. It is not that at all. This would likely be classified as arthouse. It is often funny, goes in directions you cannot anticipate, is definitely not intended for 15 year old boys looking for gore. It's a movie made by and for people who love movies and prefer them with ambiguity, humor, depth and dimensionality. This is not only not The Exorcist but a movie that intends to subvert that movie and that entire genre. In fact, it is at its worst when it spends any time as an exorcism movie--which is actually very little of its runtime. If you want something different, try it.

Avoid at all costs. Absurd dialogue, people behaving like no person actually would, and the surprise ending is ludicrous. Save your money.
