There's a channel called Evan royalty that makes military type videos though usually featuring a supernatural twist. I love his stuff and this gave me the same vibes. All serious military vibes, character writing is short but tight and minimal and lots of high stakes and action. If this had a huge production and budget I'd give it a 2/10. But being this a passion project by the drinker and first time in the helm for filmmaking it's not bad. I don't know if it's just me but when something is created by a small team or limited budget I'm a bit more forgiving. I could go on all day picking apart the writing characters etc. I'm sure would understand the context more if I read the books. But as a stand alone with the context behind the production I felt I got exactly what I wanted. I wanted a good cheeseburger with fries and I got that. I'm sure with time if drinker does more projects he'll learn more and more. Those who loved it good for; those who hated it; good for you. I got what I wanted and that's more than I could ask for.

So I only discovered this show because it was on Funimations new winter anime and when I saw just the thumbnail I was like why does this exist why is it on Funimation. I thought that Funimation just wanted another title to pad out their roster but when I saw this got a dub (and yes I am a filthy dub listener) I knew I had to watch it. I saw the first episode and to quote an anime YouTuber "you may of noticed the new genre to come out, I can't believe it's not hentai," and this is as close as a hentai you can get without saying it's a hentai. There are many anime out there where the fan service is the most important factor and everything else is a vehicle for it. But this shows elements and characters are a vehicle for the hentai service. And they could of just stopped there and said here's some tits and ass but the characters at least in the dubbed version are likable and funny and have some good chemistry together. They're far from fleshed out characters that you would see in something like cowboy bebop but they're also far from bland boring characters and put in another anime as maybe side characters would be highly enjoyable. Also I thought the dub would be as atrocious as any dub for hentai (yes I've delved down that rabbit hole) but there were many voice actors who I immediately recognized from other anime. I really would really like to know how they felt after delivering their lines.

All in all it's not for everyone or most people. This anime is definitely not for newcomers and for veterans only and those who have delved into hentai. I'm curious to see what other people will say about this show
