This is yet another of Joel Schumacher's incredibly lame efforts at telling believable and entertaining stories.

I don't know how so many people could be in awe of this incredibly flawed film. Is Colin so amazing that everyone just lets all the bad movie making just slide down their gullets?

I don't feel the need to explain why this movie is one of the worst I have seen since the unfortunate "Night Falls on Manhattan". I will only say that this movie may please some of the people (as evidenced by all the PR puff reviews placed on this site) but it has story holes you could ride an elephant through. Not to mention a whole load of other lame elements.

It has certainly failed in providing any entertainment value to me or my mates.

Beware.

This movie was fun. I like Dogs, and I think this movie lived up to my expectations about what a Lassie movie should be. I watched it with my 8 year old sister who was very entertained by the whole thing. It's true, the plot is quite simple, and the sheep farming wasn't totally accurate, but overall, this movie which focuses on some young kids and of course, Lassie, is good for a night at home in your jammies. My parents were very happy when we picked this off the shelf at the video store. While my sister and I were very happy that Lassie was so beautiful, and that we had fun watching this movie together.

I saw this DVD at the store and decided to give it a shot. And on a quiet Wednesday night, it provided some good entertainment, though I must admit to being a David Caruso fan since his days on NYPD Blue.

It is not a major motion picture. It is a small story about a broken man and how he is pulled to even lower depths by criminal figures. In many ways it reminded me of the John Sayles picture "Limbo". Though that film played a bit less overly dramatic, many of the themes were the same.

Caruso has a good supporting cast here, and I thought the editing lent quite a bit to the plot line which is full of questionable realities, and flashbacks.

The script has some unfortunate moments were the goings on just don't seem plausible. The Ice block/neck noose scene being a fine example.

But nevertheless, as the credits began to roll, I found that I had been drawn in to the story. I had rooted for the characters, and in the end I was not disappointed that I had paid a few bills to see this flick.
