6.7 stars.
This has some ups and downs, but it never really excels to the point of good entertainment. Sure, there are a few okay moments and a few not so good ones, but there is nothing terrible or good about it, it's just average. And so I give it an average rating (for me average is basically 6.5 or thereabouts). I'll not come back to see this again, because it's not a good use of my movie time. I've already documented hundreds of similar movies that are really good and worth watching over and over, as opposed to 'A Pickleball Christmas', which was barely worth watching once.

I didn't find this to be difficult to watch, but this is an oft done trope (at least once a Holiday) about a couple that are on a break and must fake being together for their families. On the other side of the coin are the stories about people who are faking a relationship in order to appease someone, or pretending to be in a relationship in order to avoid being single in front of their peers. There are so many ways to skin a cat with this generic idea, but it's been done a lot and 'A Make or Break Holiday' did not improve upon it.
This movie has the best of the best actors. These are the people they choose to showcase their very best stories, yet this one is only average at best. It's not BAD, per se, just not GOOD.
Just a ballpark estimate, there are at least twenty Hallmark movies with the same plot, and I'd venture to guess that more than half of them are better than 'A Make or Break Holiday'. It's lacking the feeling and the energy. I'm not sure exactly what the problem is, but now that I'm done with Christmas 2025, I can safely say that Hallmark must have lost a few of their best writers, because this is about the worst year for Holiday films ever.
