It's ok but I think you need to be drunk to enjoy it. We got to the point of 40 minutes to go, and I looked across and said "this has been kinda fun but I don't think I can do another 40 minutes of it", and the reply was "thank you, thank you, kill it!" There are some good bits, but gees you need to ride the fast forward
It goes from generic US troops spraying bullets ..... for eternity..... in some Arab state, to DARK MATTER, to PREDATOR, to HALO, to V, then we stopped caring what it imitated next.
It did show us something though. These days even D grade films are capable of looking polished. This bodes well for the future. Cottage Cinema may lift us out of the vast artistic desert of the 20NNs!

We don't care!! We don't care!! We don't caaaare!!
This junk is the whole reason the previous season tanked so hard and they had to completely restart!
Season 8 did really well for the most part. Funny. No endless Mortyverse recycling. Not depending on layers and layers of virtual reality.
And No. Rick's. Past.

Does Netflix make anything good any more?
No, no it doesn't.
Squid game, season 1, was indeed a masterpiece. The Korean drama machine pulled out a fantastic script, a dystopian Black Mirroresque chiller, a bag of intense performances.
Then Netflix proceeded to make a tedious, vague, kinda-sorta action series with lots of talking, using the sets and characters from the first season.
And with a blatant commercial for a future project that, I GUARANTEE, will be unwatchable garbage.
You knew the wheels had come off when the opening credits music was no longer the 'ooh-ah' spooky child chorus from the first one.
The wheels, however, continued to fall off.
Squid Game, the thing that you KNEW had to have a message somewhere - right?? - ended up just fizzing.
And with it, fizzed Netflix's last hope.
Their documentaries are terrible - they just cover material others have covered better, with awful, awful, awful music that NEVER STOPS EVER, and every single interview shot with the head facing just out of the frame because MR ROBOT, and miles of padding with important details underemphasised and unimportant details overemphasised.
Their dramas are all just copies of European ones. Bad copies.
All their police stuff is Scandi Noir. And they are almost ALL 'somebody returns to a small town and the odour of dirty laundry floats up'.
Once in blue moon they produce something that is forecast "Ok with a chance of highlights" - CRIMINAL was not a bad example, it was never boring even when it wasn't completely interesting, and it had a couple of standout episodes.
SQUID GAME was one of those highlights.
Look, bittorrent exists and I'm sick of paying money for no content to these Ketamine addicts.
