The crystal cuckoo was a slow going murder mystery thriller that had a great ending and a fairly unique storyline. Though there was some filler and side plots that got dragged on, the core story was interesting. The acting was decent from the whole cast and the scenery was actually kind of beautiful.
While most of the episode was spent catching up the future with what we know of the past, that ending deserves top marks. I was absolutely not expecting a bad ass ending, kudos to the writers for having the guts. The series was quite interesting and the unfolding story was unique. An enjoyable watch.
This episode just blew things wide open as to the perpetrator and motive. I found myself intently watching the unfolding of the past and yet keenly aware that there was still some explaining left to do. This episode was well done and well acted. Though a bit creepy, still a good watch in all aspects.
The mini series has teetered over the edge of the halfway point and is just about to pick up steam. A lot of information was revealed to other characters, but much of it the viewers were already made aware. That ending though was just what this episode needed to get things off to the races, unexpectedly.
Like the midpoint of any good miniseries, this episode of the Crystal Cuckoo was mostly filler. The characters are being developed and the storyline is being painstakingly drawn out to maximize effect. Don't get me wrong, I'm still intrigued - I just wish things would hurry up a bit. Good acting and all that.
This episode got off to a great start and then kind of simmered. The characters and the story are figuring their way out slowly. Though I was interested by the storyline and find myself captivated by what this all is going to mean. Decent acting and a high production value from the scenery and writing.
Well this certainly gets top marks for being one of the more unique starts to a murder mystery thriller I've seen in a while. All the jumping back and forth between the different timelines was a bit much, some of those scenes could have been grouped together. Interesting enough to keep watching though.
A decent troubled detective series out of Spain. The show does a great job of using the stunning architecture of Barcelona to tell a part of the story. The characters had depth and were well acted. Admittedly I watched dubbed and was still able to feel the story and emotions. Great production and worth the watch.
While the events of the previous episode pretty well outlined what was to come, there were still quite a few surprises. The showdown of sorts was definitely a heart pounding race against time. An enjoyable series that was definitely worth the watch. Good acting from the cast and told a unique storyline.
City of Shadows is really ramping up in this episode, a lot of information is revealed about the crimes and their motivation and it leaves you thirsty for the final showdown. The acting is great from the whole cast and the production value on the sets and writing is high. An enjoyable watch, best ep yet.
Now we get to the part of the miniseries where the writers are not quite ready to end it and need to stretch out the story. Though it wasn't a bad watch, it could have been streamlined a bit. The side plots are taking up some unnecessary time. However, still a good series and thus you have to watch.
All things considered the murder investigation is developing nicely, though not so much due to the collective brainpower of the police. Instead they more seem to have the information reveal itself. The journalist is very annoying, but then again I imagine that's how some are in real life. Overall a good watch.
The second episode of the City of Shadows does its job, asking more questions than it answers and getting deeper into the murder mystery. The acting is pretty decent from the whole cast and the characters have depth. The side plots seem only to add filler, this series would be better if it focused a bit.
The tortured detective trope is a bit tired, but that opening murder was quite intense so I decided to let it ride. The opening episode does a good job of introducing the characters and setting up the investigation. Production value is high and the use of actual Barcelona infrastructure is different.
The ending of this movie was absolutely shocking, that is the one concession I will give it, I was flabbergasted. Everything else about this was just kind of sucked. The characters were all unlikeable and the storyline meandered. I stayed just to see how the trainwreck would end. Definitely do not recommend.
If I had to sum up where Halle Berry's catwoman goes wrong, I'd just have to say it tries too hard. The edgy dialogue comes across as kind of goofy. The storyline itself isn't too bad and the acting itself isn't too bad. But all together the movie just doesn't work. Not the worst movie ever made, but not great.
A real aussie whodunit, I was captivated from minute one and luckily the writers only keep you hanging on for six episodes. Though the story could have been streamlined a bit, it was a good watch. The writing was really good, I didn't predict the killer or the circumstances. Definitely worth the watch.
The Survivors turned out to be a clever murder mystery series. The crimes and circumstances were compelling and the show moved at a decent pace. The characters were well acted and had depth. I was thoroughly shocked by the murderer, so kudos to the writers. Overall a good watch, though one time will be enough.
Its the second to last episode and you find yourself wanting to solve the murders, but you cant be too hasty. The writers are throwing out their final punches and red herrings are everywhere. The series is intriguing and the characters are compelling. It you've made it this far there's no way you'll quit now.
Now we've gotten into the dreaded middle section of the mystery mini series where things need to get drug out a bit. All the pieces are there but they don't want to reveal it all too quickly. Predictions can be made about the killer or killers but you just cant be too sure. Good acting and interesting story.
Like any good mystery mini series The Survivors throws out it's first red herring. The circumstances around the first suspect being arrested were predictable. The story though is developing at a good pace, some questions are being answered but not enough to make the killer obvious. Pretty good television.
The second episode of The Survivors provides more questions than answers, which any self respecting mini series would do to keep interest piqued. The characters are quite compelling and the acting is decent from the whole cast. All of these peoples lives are certainly messy, making for good television.
While maybe not the best mini series out there, The Survivors was certainly intriguing. The characters were compelling and fairly well acted. The storyline itself gave away the mystery but made it murky enough that you couldn't guess the circumstances. A pretty good episode of tv, definitely going to continue.
This show gets top marks for stringing people along withe promise of treasure to only deliver a fake bead and a folded coin, whilst staying on the air. The shows content is mostly "coming up" montages and flashbacks. The new content of the episode takes up a sum total of five minutes of air time. Ridiculous.
This series started off with promises to be a dramatization of the notre dame fire and the people involved. It immediately broke down into absolute lunacy. Side plots that had nothing to do with the cathedral were the core focus of the show. The firefighters were so incompetent it was actually hard to watch. Avoid!
