This is corporate Disney doing a documentary on their brand mascot. To be fair, this is better than that. It's nice to have snippets of Walt's early childhood. It's not the worst thing to have a social discussion of the significance of Mickey Mouse. There is a lot of meat on that bone. In addition, this is willing to touch on some of the more sensitive aspect like Disney's litigious side and its establishment tendency. It is nice to see them talk about the change between pre and post WWII. In the end, it is an in-depth documentary from friends and fans.
Ricky Turner and his family is struggling in England. Ricky starts delivering packages as a self-employed contractor. As such, he has no rights, no benefits, and has to pay for everything. His wife Abby has to work hard as a home care nurse. They have two kids. The older son Seb is getting into trouble with the graffiti friends.
Director Ken Loach brings a struggling British working class family onto the screen. This is a tough watch. It is a brutal reality in the modern world for the working class. Seb is so frustrating and such a teenager. The last scene is so devastating. This one is tough.

This is a biopic of British inventor William Friese-Greene (Robert Donat) who arguably invented the modern moving-pictures camera. He lived from 1855 to 1921. He would go bankrupt a few time while he continued to invent. He dies in poverty and in dramatic fashion during a meeting of British cinema.
This is beautifully made with the best of Britain. It had some critical praise and bombed at the box office. It's a bit stodgy or maybe that's just being British. I don't know this man and can't judge the accuracy. All I know is that this gets a bit dull at times and interesting at other times. It is very much borderline.
