I am susceptible to Korean productions and watching it to the end has not been difficult nor boring for me . It is the story of a kingdom seeking to survive amidst the powerplays of two great neighbours. Set in the 17th century , the king has limited options to isolate his nation from becoming subjects to either Ching or Ming Dynasties. What impressed me the most about the movie was its giving viewers the chance of watching closely competition, polarisation and decision making in the executive pillar of the kingdom. The dialogues were a real work and attracted my attention primarily as I am a political scientist and an international relations expert. Koreans need particular applause in their crafted ability to drown productions in cheap sexuality. There was no ingredient of romance as a baking power. You will see sheer man's world , misery , survival and zest for liberation. Though underrated the movie is destined to be an issue of wider recognition in the years to come. Thank you from Türkiye to Korea.

I think the casting , script and the use of technology are pretty good . Although I have not read the series yet , I can realise without effort that it is the adaptation problems that make the tv series underrated and probably stuck into a vicious cycle primarily in the story. Not the least I hear that the season 4 will not be shot as the ratings have been found below expectations and production expenses far beyond calculated.

I don't know if I am thinking crazily but hope that the series may be reshot but this time adapted from the series truly.

Such a pity that many people around are unaware of this very beautiful series. Something I don't like in this series is frequent telling of lesbian or bisexual encounters. Is the novel originally telling these or has woman to woman encounter been injected to the production to attract sensation ?

Overall I heartedly loved casting. Shooting locations have been selected so well. Congrats !

I hope more seasons may come someday soon.

I just don't know how come I saw this excellent production at the age of 46. I regret painfully not having seen it . From A to Z , the movie is even beyond excellent. Casting is wonderful. Leading actors are the winners of Oscar best actor in my heart. Scores are fantastic . Casting is amazing . The story is very well-written. You must see this fantastic Leone production.

So many things I want to write here but I am tired.

I still don't not get why this movie is not rated 9.0 and beyond . I don't think this movie is lesser in quality than Leone's other productions starring Clint Eastwood and Lee Van Cliff.

This week I am going to watch the movie again to absorb it fully.
