Like another reviewer here, I have to say it's challenging to review Birbiglia because he's so unusual. He manages to be insightful, endearing, gentle, lovable, while not at all corny or sterile or conservative. There is just the right amount of swearing. I personally don't usually care for anyone going on about their kids..but his insightful offerings here are really engaging.
Love when he talks about his wife and their relationship. Gives me hope that worthwhile romantic relationships exist.
He's just honest, kind and smart.. in perfect proportions. I have found all of his standup to be equally compelling and entertaining. Love him.

Actually, I'm vegan..but I just love Jon Hamm so much, I almost don't care what the role or the show or movie is. Initially the ratings for this show were on the low side. Given how much I love Hamm, I thought I'd give it a look anyway. I love it. It's unique, it's rather cynical, but I like that. It's a commentary on our capitalist, shallow society. It's making me feel better that I don't live in the $3 million house. I love his character.
I'm on episode two, came here to rate and review, and really happy to see that it's now a 7.9, which makes much more sense to me. I can see how this may not be for everyone.. but it is for me. ;0)

Granted, I am an artist. I just thought it was a beautiful and inspiring story. Love the exploration of who Michael is as an artist. Love that he doesn't prioritize the almighty dollar. Live that he spreads goodwill and creativity everywhere he goes. He was compelled to create the apartment..just for the sake of it. No, it wasn't out of necessity, nor some kind of hooligan rebellion, nor a money making scheme. He reminds us, with all of his projects that beauty is is own excuse for being.
I'm a life long RI resident, so it was fun to see the familiar newsroom faces, Umberto from AS220, some RI landmarks, and to get some Providence history that I wasn't aware of. Definitely a must see for Rhode Islanders.
