Inspector Lynley Investigates is an uneven crime drama anchored by the self-righteous and pompous Inspector Lynley, whose privileged demeanor often grates more than it intrigues. In contrast, his partner DS Havers brings a grounded, relatable presence that adds much-needed balance. Unfortunately, the show suffers from overly stretched and improbable plots that strain believability. While it has moments of intrigue, it's hard to stay invested when the mysteries feel so contrived and the lead so insufferable. Havers deserves her own show.
I like neither the actor nor the character of Inspector Lynley.

Great example of how to raise kids without exercising any authority or discipline.
The kids call their parents names, deliberately disobey them and argue with them showing little or no respect - especially the rebellious oldest one.
Although it is sometimes funny, it is also sad to think that this is the next generation being raised.
The parents' idea of bringing their kids up is basically argue with them and they always lose.
The youngest one is very intelligent but gets away with murder, never being disciplined or told when enough is enough.
I hope that viewers understand that there is no way that in real life kids brought up like this will amount to respectable, balanced individuals - even though the writers will have you believe otherwise.

I was checking out this movie by myself before letting my grandkids watch it and unfortunately I must say that for a U-rated movie I was not expecting 100s of "Oh my God"s - Is this really necessary?
And a "What the H*ll" thrown in for good measure. I believe in teaching kids not to use profanity or blasphemy, so I won't be taking the kids to see this!
The story line is good and it would've been so much better to have kept it clean in language as well. It's sad because the animation and characters are great, but the dialogue undermines its family-friendly appeal.
I think this tells me a lot about the producers and script writers family life!
