Like many horror fans, I spend a lot of time wading through the proverbial garbage that saturates the genre, in search of those hidden gems. BABY BLUES is just such a find. Beautiful cinematography, a tight script, and some really solid performances make for a terrifying journey into a child's worst nightmare. My biggest question is, why has it taken me so long to find this flick? It seems to have completely slipped under the radar. This film is 10 times better the most theatrically released horror films. If you are a horror fan, or just a fan of great independent cinema, I strongly recommend you check this out!
I saw Pumpkin Hell at the Florida Film Festival, and was blown away.
A small boy is abandoned at a roadside pumpkin patch and is forced to spend the night with a creepy down-and-out pumpkin farmer. Although this short synopsis may seem simple and to the point, there is so much more going on below the surface. Writer / Director Max Finneran shows his true film-making chops with this carefully crafted story about two people searching for something more. While the film is progressively dark, there are moments of unexpected humor and more importantly, real emotional drama. Populated by characters you both love and hate, shot with exceptional lighting and camera placement, and designed to the T, Pumpkin Hell is not to be missed. Keep an eye out at your local film festivals. It may be coming to a town near you.
