Just finished seasons 1 & 2. Better than I was thinking it would be. There are lots of laugh-out-loud bits, and the acting is very good. The plot lines tend to be a little overly-cliche, but it's reasonably well-made, and the characters are really pretty interesting and fun. Overall, it's very entertaining. Arnold does a great job, as does the rest of the cast. Tom Arnold's character could have been given more, as his character was really good, but oh well. Some parts can get fairly over-the-top, realistic-wise, bu it's meant to be kind of a parody, so it works well. Like most action movies, there isn't alot of "down time", and the situations move pretty quickly.
Was thinking I would really like this. Managed to get through one season - and it was better toward the beginning of season one. There were a handful of pretty funny scenes, but juuuuuuust not enough to offset the rest of it. Most of it - the default, actually - was just alot of weird, sick and unfunny noise. Almost felt like some sort of amateurish rough draft for what would eventually become a show. The celeb cameos were kind of interesting, but again, just didn't make it good enough to be, well, good. Ended up getting sleazier as the season went on. Tudyk is pretty good in this, but it's just not very well thought out.
This is clearly Gene Hackman's film, and he does a great job. The film is pretty interesting and very watchable, although not the classic it should be, considering the cast. There are several plot holes that should have been filled in before they filmed. And there is the overly obvious, almost preachy, political messaging. This almost comes off as a 2-hour anti-gun political ad, albeit with great actors. I was assuming Dustin Hoffman would have more or less an equal role to Hackman, but he was definitely second banana. Al-in-all, it was a decent watch, but it could probably have been much better.
