I mean seriously.... watch this and see the holes that come from the writing, it's like swiss cheese. It's just plain bad. The characters are utterly unbelievable, the conversations trite and the whole thing progresses like it was written by a high schooler.

Don't get me wrong, I think the actors aren't half bad in it. And I'm happy to see Baccarin back. But what can a good actor do with a rubbish script? Nothing....

Scott peters should be fired from Hollywood. If you think otherwise, watch it again, or wait for ep2, but pass on the flashy CG and look at what should make a show good, the writing. V lacks this 100%.

This was an almost scene for scene copy of the much better REC, a Spanish film taking place in Barcelona. To make it fair, I watched both day after day, and went into both with an open mind.

Simply put, I have no idea how Hollywood managed to think that a remake was necessary? They could have just dubbed the original, put it out in the US theaters, saved on production costs and made more cash for everyone.

Long story short is watch the original, don't bother with the remake, character development is much better, Angela Vidal is better is Spanish and more human than Carpenter, and notwithstanding overall character development is better in the original.

From what I've heard it's even wore is that the director doesn't even mention during the commentary that the film is based on REC, doesn't mention i.e. "that this same scene was in the original and we though it was great so we used it ourselves." Total ripoff, total rubbish, total Hollywood crap.

I'm not going to deliberate, or point out the historical inaccuracies of this film; other posters have already done this. I will instead say how utterly disgusted I was by the portrayal of the Pole during this film. Being of Polish Jewish decent, and having a grandfather who lived through the Warsaw uprising, and having heard first hand of what occurred here, I can only say that this film does a great disservice to the men and women who fought with next to nothing to keep the Germans at bay for over a month. If anything, it should also be pointed out that in all likelihood the uprising would have been a success if the governments of Britain and the United States had come through on their promises, however that information, like so much other vital information about the uprising and the AK is excluded from this film.
