Story is basically good. But to make it realistic at all, for one to buy the story, there is this huge gap to fill: Where do they get supplies to live? Enough food? Gas for the cars. Eletricity. Clothes. Some of the people have been there in a closed village for years, and still there is no scarcity of these basic goods. But nothing can be brought in or out.
It doesn't make sense.
Otherwise it's a cool story, with a monster/zombie type/isolated world theme. Great acting and well made film. Well written story, and great scenes for the a bit gory acts.
I've seen 2 episodes now, and am willing myself to finish the series, and disregard the basic logistics failure in the story, re.supplies. That's how good the series is.

Total chliché. Superficial characters, so skin deep. It's absolutely painful to watch the film, it's agonising. I often like rom-coms, but the parents are ridiculously unbeliable characters and the younger couple are just there. The film isn't even so bad that it's funny, I did not laugh once watching this "comedy". It's as fun as watching tomatoes rot.
Julia Roberts an George Clooney are wonderful actors, and they do their best to save the film, but even they can't.
The story never captured me, the parents were simply grumpy annoying people that couldn't get a grip and behave.
There is though quite a bit of pretty nature in the film, and that's something.

This movie is more about bad selfish privileged people than an earhquake. Western tourists overtaken by fright, greed, thinking just about themselves when the going gets rough, not caring about saving the injured first, bordering on (or fully bloomed in) sociopathy. And about the poor locals, devastated about their loss, of their people, and all their belongings. Beautiful scenery and filmmaking. A bit misleading title and trailers as it happens in three places in Nepal. Best wishes and gratitude for a real deep thinking movie, in what could have been about emotional gibberies. Thank you dear film makers.
