Lets start with the bad things about this movie. The special effect. Ok thats it. The rest is great and I'll tell you why.
The acting is top notch. Lam Ching Ying (as ever) plays his role as the Master perfectly. Ricky Hui as Man Choi is excellent and his role as the bumbling assisstant is played to a tee.
The comedy, although mainly slapstick does also have some very funny verbal jokes which work even in subtitles. The slapstick comedy is however the main source of laughs and it is the best ever. It rivals Charlie Chaplin and Buster Keaton.
Chinese vampires are much better than any Darcula knock off, and the stroy explains quite a lot of the details of dealing with such hopping vampires. Rather than the old garlic, sticky rice is used to scorch the vampire. Also holding your breath is an extremely useful tactic.
This movie has lots of rewatch value so buy rather than rent. You'll want watch the jail scene over and over again!
This movie is great. You shouldn't even have to read this just go buy it now!

I do not lie.
This movie is perfect on every count. Its funny, clever, action packed, great musical score, thrilling, scary. You name it, its got it.
Everyone should see this movie. Lam Ching Ying is perfect (as usual) so go watch it now!

This movie is what every old school kung fu should be about. The action is unpassable. With Yuen Biao, Lam Ching Ying and Sammo Hung in excellent form.
Also the acting is top class, Sammo and Lam Ching work perfectly as feuding brothers and Yuen Biao is convincing in his role as the prodigal son.
The movie is well balanced between humour and drama. Sammo is at his funniest when impressing his daughter (and the audience) with his calligraphy skills, Sammo at his best!
Unlike most Kung Fu movies the story in this one makes some sense and is seamless, there are parrallels between each person and is balanced perfectly between action and moving the story on.
The musical score is also top class, Frankie Chan does a wonderful job, the final fight music is perfectly suited.
A must for any Action fan.
