Stumbled across this show just as their 2nd season got released. The housing area covered is the South Shore of Boston Massachusetts, from south of Quincy, to north of Fall River. The houses are interesting and varied and no one has any sort of grandiose suburban palace like many other HGTV shows seem to run towards. The homes are great, the home owners are real, the hosts actually like each other, and the results have been damned good so far.
Denese's design taste is fantastic (right up there with Izzy's wife Lily on their show Izzy Does It, who also has a sharp eye for great design style). Every project has made a point of talking budgets and everything we've seen has been within the budget and they've looked damned good when they're done. We'll be watching every one.

This series backs up a bit more for background of the team that did it, and does more player interviews, but for the soul of the Boston fans (my first Fenway game was in 1960), you have find Four Days in October, and see what the Red Sox mean to us, and why it was an actual dream come true, in 2004.
My father was a Boston Braves fan growing up, and it killed him that they didn't win a World Series until they moved to Milwaukee. I went from a kid to an adult before my Red Sox won one, but having to crush the Yankees to do it made it worth it to me. The fact that in the two decades since they've won it all three more times? Gravy baby, gravy!

With the way the script played out, Clark Gable made the right choice to run off with Elinor Parker in the end, who was just about perfect in subtlely subdued western romp. Sara Shane, Jean Wilkes and Barbara Nichols played different western women archetypes interacting with Gable, making the old woman (their mother-in-law) crazy as they all played the game of who this strange man might team up to make off with gold hidden somewhere on the ranch for the last two years.
Jo van Fleet as 'Ma' McDade and Elinor Parker as Sabina McDade absolutely ran hard with this script, with Parker going toe to toe with Gable in every scene they shared and the outdoor scenery is pretty freaking nice as well (filmed just outside of St. George Utah). Two thumbs up for this almost lost gem from near end of Gable's long career.
