Watching the new blu ray made be realize even more how heavy, heavy , heavy on the CGI this movie is. Some more realistic than others, but easily noticeable in the car chases (like watching GTA). Like others have said, if you're a 13 year old boy, this is the movie for you. Light on story line and heavy on action. There is an attempt to build depth into some of the characters, but the motivations for turning to the evil side just simply fall laughably flat. Heavy on the good ol' conservative morality (and absolution), with some dated pokes at France (remember "freedom fries"?). I didn't expect much in the way of story and it didn't deliver.

Who was this for? I'm guessing 14-year-olds that have seen Tarantino shirts at Hot Topic and love the aesthetic pages on Instagram that have pictures of Heath Ledger. I didn't think this was going to be "Snatch" or "Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang", but I'm drinking in a hotel by myself on a work trip and was hoping it would be fun at least. I started fast-forwarding halfway though. There are no jokes, no gunfights, no interesting characters. I watched two rom-coms last night and cried about an ex. I love that stuff. This was about two rich kids that never owned cell phones (i guess) who get back together after not wanting to split up in the first place. So what was the grand act of love that brought them back together? What was the journey they had to go on? What life and death stakes were they willing to brave for each other? Let me tell you...it was just being back in the same room together after a couple of years at college apart.

SO brilliant...very good acting. Not at all silly. The differences between points of view particularly between rick and shane are expertly done and understandable on both sides. Who really is right? Made worse by being long term friends. It is gripping,has a natural flow as time goes on and cant wait for next episode. All actors take their part exceptionally well. So many questions about how to deal with it but without becoming a narrative or taking anything away from the series.
