Basically my issues with the film center on two points: A) The story adheres to realism where it suits it and leaves realism begging at the door when it needs the hero to live another day. And B) warren Hicks (Scott Parker) is in over his head with this character and this movie. Part of the problem is how the character is written. There's very little real about him. And that has to be laid at the feet of the writers.
James Bryhan (Pat Gunther) deserves the awards he's getting for his performance. His character doesn't talk as much as the protagonist (Parker), whose temperament is as cold as the ice around him when he taunts him about his sexuality. I felt more empathy towards (Gunther) plight and grieve stricken response to what befalls him , rooting for him to win the day , more so than (Parker) who despite losing his legs, acted as if he'd been subjected to watching paint dry.
The story overall was good and worth a watch.

Killers, nutters, rapists and one mean ,glorious psychopath (Kato Plasma) gutting, chopping and the greatest of mayhem are all the ingredients to make this one psychotic, driven bloody mayhem of a movie!
Martial arts with a dash of horror set slightly in the future with action stars Sunny Pang ,Hannah Al Rashid, Oka Antario, Nick Khan and James Jaysen Bryhan.
This movie blew me away! The fight scenes were excellent, the acting ,especially by 4 of the leads was phenomenal. Now I know this film was made on a tight budget, but the actors, the fight sequences and the story carried it all the way through. Nick Khan was the vicious Russian killer who tore everyone and everything up,but came nowhere scary than James Jaysen Bryhan. His character was more than menacing and was such a standout that it was a shame to see his scenes so short. I would've liked to have seen Kato vs Igor. Now that's a game i'd place a bet on.
Needless to say, this film is as good as (dare I say) The Raid.
Do I need to say anything else? NO. GO AND WATCH IT.
