A very interesting unbiased documentary. It stands out because unlike normal documentaries on this subject the narrative also covers the point of view from Somali side quite well which is quite different to the US point of view. I'm sure it must be uncomfortable for the US public to see that for once the Americans are not only portrayed as heroes. And that the documentary also covers quite sensitive subjects like Americans (accidentally?) killing civilians. Because that did happen but you never hear about it as other documentaires never cover this. I think the makers did their home work and took their time to cover all viewpoints with even attention. Watched all three episodes in one go.

I never leave User Reviews on IMDB. No one will read them. But this series is so incredibly good and it has given me so much that I feel obliged to write about it although no one will ever read this or care.

Since BoB aired I must have watched it over 40 times (at least twice a year). With some episodes like "Day of Days", "Carentan" and the Battle of the Bulge episodes getting more airtime than others.

What amazes me is the timelessness of the series. This could have been made in 2011, 2021 or even in 2031. It never ever gets old. I feel a connection to the characters I have never felt in any other movie or series before and probably never will again.

The story, the acting, the effects, the authenticity, the music....everything about this series I just beyond excellent. It is hard for me to imagine that this level of quality will ever be surpassed.

And now almost 25 years later when we know that not all things portrayed in the series were accurate, I still regularly return to the series.

Here's to another 25 years of watching BoB, because that is exactly what I'm going to do.

I normally don't leave reviews here but this was so bad I just had to warn others. Did not know if I had to laugh or cry watching this. This is a typical Dutch movie of this era. Bad actors (always the same ones), bad script and no budget and terrible CGI. Why does Dutch cinema always use the same 15+ actors and actrices in every single movie they make??? The actors act like they have never acted before (the professional soldiers used in the film as extras act much better), the storyline is laughable at best but mostly totally unbelievable. I cannot imagine that someone at the Dutch department of defense thought it would be a good idea to participate in this. In fact, it makes me angry realizing that the Dutch department of defense wasted my tax money on this disaster of a movie. Because that is what this is. A recruiting movie for the Dutch military but only done very very badly. The 4.9 it has now does not do it justice. It should be a 0.1. Don't watch this and go waste your time on something else. You will thank me later.
