'Bewafa' will make you cry. The female character Roopa (Nargis) makes you imagine of a girl who don't know the accurate path but thinks herself as she is doing right due to her her blind trust on everyone. The problems with misunderstanding a person is another element in the story. Ashok Babu (Ashok Kumar) is portrayed as a guide for Roopa to begin and end her good life. Raj (Raj Kapoor) may confuse you till the mid-half unless the three gangsters enter the scene and make you realise the reality. The paintings displayed in this movie have relevance until the climax which makes art work an essential ingredient in the story.
This movie was short when compared to other films of the lead actors. It should have been little more extended because this short film confines Ashok Kumar's role to a mere advisor and a secret lover. Some dream songs of Ashok Kumar was a must that would have shown his love more openly rather than alloting majority of songs to Raj which of course will not make you feel emotional (while listening to songs) if you have watched it. Instead of showing Ashok as only a silent artist, he should also have been shown as a singer so that the songs could be made more romantic.

This film has certain scenes which attracts me a lot, some of which are:
1. Sam hanging over helicopter and singing to Deepa who is riding a speedboat
2. Sam and Deepa going in a scooter with their friend lovers in other scooter
3. Sam following Deepa in majority of the places she go and rescuing her from villains.
It highlights Sam's in-depth love for Deepa as he rejects marriage with her twin sister who exactly look the same. It helps to get a reflection of European society in 1960s as it shows the natural sites and picnic spots of the time. The story takes your mind to many conclusions but the final climax will not be the one you thought.
My energy level got boosted after watching this film because of which I feel to watch it again and again for pleasure. Moreover, the film's music by Shankar-Jaikishan especially the song 'Aasman Se Aaya Farishta' is outstanding.

The story of this movie laid a foundation for the blockbuster future film Aashiqui (1990). I saw this movie after I listened to the video song 'Bheegi Bheegi Raaton Main' by Kishore Kumar and Lata Mangeshkar. What should be given priority?- Love or occupation is the point of tensions between the two. The husband misunderstands that the wife gave priority to the latter (the job of 'model') and purposefully killed the unborn baby. This leads to breakup. They are united when the husband comes to know the reality and when the wife supports husband in a case where the husband was declared as a robber. Rajesh Khanna's acting gives an upper hand to this film when compared to Aashiqui where music plays an important role.
