  • Has its good parts, but a decent movie

"10 people will fight. 9 people will die. You get to watch."

    Basic tag line, isn't it?

10 convicts around the world are chosen, including All-American Cowboy Jack Conrad (Former WWE wrestler Stone Cold Steve Austin), an England bad-ass who kills for the love of it Iwan McStarkley (Vinnie Jones), a Mexican husband and wife "Paco y Rosa"(Manu Bennett and Dasi Ruz(a little Spanish humor by the way)), to participate in a 30-hour Battle Royale featured on the internet in order to win $1,000,000.

The money may have given great attention to them, but when it came to the audience, the plot gave more attention in other films, such as the Japanese success Battle Royale. The Condemned may not be as inspiring as Battle Royale, but this film brought a more raw and mature look to it. While a few lines make the film seem confused for...about less than 20 seconds, but the diverse personalities in the film are too good for lines.

Speaking of personalities, the convicts bring short, but decent action sequences. The main actor, Steve Austin, brings in bad-ass cowboy humor into the movie, but died off a little and tried to get back up sometime during the movie. Vinnie Jones is now pronounced the "British Psycho/Heartless Bastard" after watching this movie, and he actually performed it excellently in the movie I must say. Ian Breckel (Robert Mammone), the producer of the program however, is the worst of the cast as he brings in cheesy lines and does cheesy actions to make himself feel like the better god. If any reviewer should pan this film, he would be the main reason, among other things such as sexual objectification (The girl contestants were treated like sex toys). The workers behind him, except the blonde bombshell with a heart, act like lazy nerds who have nothing else to do with their lives.

While there were bad actors, there were some pretty good stand outs in the film. One was Yasantwa (Emelia Burns), the African female who made a good silent performance during the beginning of the movie. When the program began, the attention went to her immediately. As she wandered around the island, the attention then went to Japanese bad-ass Saiga (Masa Yamaguchi), who made a lot of his actions speak for his words.

The action behind the camera seemed raw as well, as the camera was constantly shaking. Although it gave an intense look to it, sometimes you couldn't see what happened during every scene. The music was ridiculously brought in by Breckel, who felt like asking his workers to play music during every action sequence. The music was kind of what a WWE game would use, but songs like Spiderbait's "Black Betty" felt good for an action sequence, and The Condemned brought it in for an introduction.

Did the Comdemned bring a great film? Probably not as a really successful film, but it was a pretty okay attempt.

  • A role you would never expect Halle Berry to do so well.

    I loved this movie 24/7.

It is about two black girls from the ghetto who are discovered to act as this millionaire's late love's grand-daughter(well Halle Berry's role was to play her). The girls then discover some others being fake as well.

The comedy in this movie is really thought out, to me. The customized hairdos are what made me laugh. Out of all of the African American movies, this would be apart of the "not excellent, but good movies to enjoy."

You guys are saying that Halle Berry shouldn't of played this role, but that is what being an actor/actress is about. You have to be able to act as any person. That includes being a king, and then bring some bank robber, and then being a psycho, or something like that.

What about Gerald Butler? He may have not played a good Phantom of The Opera, but he was good in 300 and...I think Beowolf he played in, too. He also plays Hilary Swank's goofy late boyfriend in P.S. I Love You. It's about acting more than just one type of character. If so, That would be boring.

  • A great developed game

We all started from Dead or Alive, to the second, to the third, and it has developed very quickly in my opinion. Now that Dead or Alive 4 is out, we stood for joy waiting on this game. Believe me I did.

Dead or Alive 4 I must say is one of the best graphic Dead or Alive games, while Dead or Alive 2: Ultimate was second. You get to see every strand of hair , and clothes flowing through the wind, and you get to see, of course, what DOA has gotten most famous for...Those deadly female ninjas, wrestlers, and martial artists.

Now three have joined the DOA cast, well technically five. There's Kokoro, the very long haired Geisha, the "Lion from Virtua Fighter" look-alike, but much better, Elliot, and the high kicking and flipper, La Mariposa, who most know as Lisa from Xtreme Beach Volleyball. It was kind of hard to find out what her race was. There is also a Halo-girl Spartan, and the main boss, Alpha, or Kasumi's jello clone.

When you start many of you notice "Where is Gen-Fu, Helena, and Leon". Well, you have to unlock them.

The soundtrack has gotten a little more interesting. You will always know that there will be at least a few Aerosmith songs in there, and there is. The Aerosmith songs really set the mood into this game. The intro is the best part for a song.

Now, to the stages. They are really detailed, and you fight everywhere on those stages. You even get to knock them over fences. When practicing, going to new places are a lot of fun.

To the gameplay, many characters seem to have new moves compared to the past gam,es, and every character has that powerful move, to make your replays "skip, and repeat". Some characters have really good juggling combos as your strategy to beat every character in this game.

The very big problem about this game, is the difficulty. 1st of all, there's NO EASY MODE! When you start playing mode like story, or time attack, they really get easy at some times, but the last stage, out of all stages, will keep you playing this one stage for 15 o 20 minutes. Believe me. This game will get you frustrated, a lot. My cousin actually broke a pack of my clear cds, and I had to buy another one. That's how frustrating it is.

However, the good thing about story mode, is that some characters do not face Alpha on the last stage. So you can get those "kinky" costumes that you wanted, and be glad you got it.

Do I think this game is really good to buy. Easy mode or no easy mode(Well, Easpecially having an easy mode) Yes, this can be a good game to buy.
