Top of the Heap was basically another Married With Children, with the exception of the mother and daughter. Basically, Charlie Verducci is another Al Bundy who has high hopes for his son, Vinnie. He convinces Vinnie to get a job at the local lavished Country Club, with hopes that he will end up marrying a wealthy woman and then take care of Charlie. Charlie also had an infatuation with the owner/manager of the country club. Many times, the stars of Married With Children would make special appearances on this show. Many episodes resembled one another, which is probably why the series didn't last. Eventually there was a spin off of this spin off, known as Vinnie and Bobby. That one didn't last long either. Good thing Matt LeBlanc got casted in Friends.

This event was awesome! The wrestlers drew names earlier in the evening, of who they would face. They compete in a tournament to determine who is the king of the ring. The matches for this event were Adrian Adonis vs. Corporal Kirshner, The Dynamite Kid vs. Nikolai Volkoff, Randy Savage vs. Ivan Putski, Davey Boy Smith vs. Ricky Steamboat, Terry Funk vs. Moondog Spot, The Junkyard Dog vs. The Iron Sheik, Tito Santana vs. Don Muraco, and Paul Orndorff vs. Cowboy Bob Orton. This event was an early incarnation of the King of the Ring event the WWF would eventually put on. On top of the tournament going on, Hulk Hogan defended his title against Rowdy Roddy Piper in one of their classic unfinished encounters. This event had awesome quality matches for the times. I particularly enjoyed the match up between The Dynamite Kid and Nikolai Volkoff. It was easy to see how the Dynamite Kid inspired such stars today as Chris Benoit, among others. I anyone is able to find this rare video, I encourage them to do so. This event was wrestling at its best!

This show was kind of a rip on the old late night talk shows. Instead of interviewing Hollywood actors and actresses, they interviewed wrestlers. Vince McMahon was the main host, and his co-host was Lord Alfred Hayes. Occasionally they'd have some great features like "The Mating Game", which was just like the dating game, and a "This is Your Life" segment. Once they even had Big John Studd bench press 700lbs. This show was very clean by today's standard of professional wresting. There was always good humor involved, and it was true to the older style of wrestling. I really enjoyed this show while it lasted.
