While absolutely too over the top and ridiculous at times, I still found myself enjoying this new entry in the ain't no stopping Death franchise. It was silly, outlandish and downright extra at times, but it knew what it was there to do and achieved the goal of entertaining with next level Mortal Kombat like fatalities tenfold.
The premise was interesting too about it starting in the 60's with one of the old relatives passing down some type of clairvoyance like precognitive ability then just spirals out of control from the first scene onwards. Some of the kills were cleverly performed as well, some thinking it's a fake out and having great call backs later on. There's definitely some intriguing writing going on here, albeit with the immense amount of sheer calamity going on.
The special effects were pretty bad though as each kill ended in showcasing some really wonky animated blood and body parts that you can clearly think they belonged in a video game and some parts of the plot became predictable as the movie carried on. The acting was pretty solid at least even from the crew of lesser known actors.
Overall, Final Destination Bloodlines is a solid popcorn flick, especially to watch in the summertime, as you just flip that switch on your old noggin to off, sit back and enjoy the grotesque amount of gore that Death delivers from start to the explosive end.

Just wrapped the series finale after chipping away at it slowly the past couple of months. It was definitely an entertaining show with wacky antics that revolved around a group of 5 peeps who lived in this ridiculously spacious loft apartment in Cali. The cast was great. Definitely some of the earlier episode episodes in the first half of the series hit harder than some of the episodes in the second half but I definitely enjoyed how the finale ended and I thought it was a good fit for the characters. If anyone is a fan of quirky comedy shows that resemble how I Met your mother, then I would give this one a whirl.
James Gunn may be a messy director and writer but he's the kind of mess of a filmmaker that is just what the doctor ordered in crafting a highly enjoyable Superman film that has charm, heart, humor and doesn't take itself too overtly seriously for the most part.
Going into this I had my reservations. I went in with low expectations because quite honestly I didn't know what to expect and from the vagueness of the trailers it didn't lead me to believe I should hang onto any sense of hope for too great of an experience. Lo and behold though after watching the credits roll and two post credits scenes later I found myself nodding my head in approval.
It was fun. Genuinely fun and entertaining throughout with minor annoyances that could he easily overlooked such as the super dog Krypto having way too many scenes of randomness to pad the runtime a bit and other scenes that tried a little too hard to be funny like this one scene that emulated a slow garage door opening to access a super vehicle. It's little pesky hindrances like that which annoyed me but since the rest of the film was pretty great I let it slide.
The cast was pretty awesome as well as the action sequences. There was one action scenen in the end with supes an Lantern that was wicked an super rad and the supporting cast too all around was well done. Nathan Fillion was my personal fave as Green Lantern. I know we're getting a Lanterns show next year but man please give this man his solo movie. He was everything. While Henry Cavill is still my fave Superman and much more than that Corenswet held his own I felt and even Nicholas Hoult as Lex eased into the role of a D-Bag nicely by the end of the film.
Overall, thumbs up from this guy. It's the type of movie that can benefit from a rewatch as well to catch the little Easter eggs and nuances they tossed in from the comics as well.
