Part of what pushed along the drama was he score, often ominous. The first hour of the movie was perhaps the best, and they ramped up the tension to a very high degree, and also showed how they tracked down who was responsible. They pointed out the plane was an older model, so the air would be re-circulated, increasing the spread of the virus powder. But it would almost be impossible to keep ramping up the tension more than they did in the first hour, as it would approach overload for the audience. In the second hour, they started to throw in really things that were almost stereotypes from similar movies, and this detracts from the movie. The movie is very long, so if they had cut running time down some, they wouldn't have had to put in some of what they did. When the pilot lost consciousness, the plane would have been on autopilot, so the spiraling down to nearly crash would not be something that would likely occur. Other than that, it seemed the movie was faithful to the plot. So yes, this Korean movie gives quite a ride. It is full of tension, drama, some good police work, and one got more than a superficial look at some of the passengers. All done well.
If one is a fan of the classic James Bond movies, this is a must see. Not that it is a good movie, but to see how some movie actors earned their income at times. It is a very, very strange movie, with some salient points that may be lost on many people. Being immortal is not what it is cracked up to be. And in that strange society, punishment was done by aging a person. But at least one will find out how Zardoz got his name. To watch it just go with the flow. If it is done in stages, it really won't matter. Saying it is a brilliant sci-fi movie may be a way of pretending it was not embarrassing to spend time watching. The red masks alone! No one can doubt it is a very strange movie.
Two Kiwi soldiers land on a beach on a small Channel Island, on the eve of D-Day, to disable the Nazi gun. At first, they land on the wrong part of the Island, but make their best effort to get to the bunker and the artillery piece. While setting a charge, they hear noises coming from the bunker, and the sounds of torture. Captain Ben decides to investigate, while Sgt. Joe says no. In the depths of the bunker, Joe gets killed, and Ben finds a German Colonel in a room splattered with blood and dismembered bodies. Ben is captured, and while tied against the wall, the Colonel scoops up guts to feed what he says is the screaming hungry demon. It seems the islands are know for witchcraft, and he is part of a secret German outfit to summon demons to help in the German war effort. For what is likely a low budget effort, it isn't that bad, and they do manage to elevate the suspense in the last act. The demon is a shape shifter which adds tension to the plot.
