When the teasers for this film appeared I was ecstatic. I grew up on Godzilla classics and to see him get the big US box office treatment was more than exciting. The story and the design of Godzilla takes a great departure from what I was familiar with but aside from that, the film is very entertaining and still holds up as a fun monster film with plenty of action and some decent comedic moments. I actually liked the Godzilla design but it's not the Godzilla we all know and love. But as a fan, I am always open to different interpretations of our beloved kaiju. He was reinvented again in Shin Godzilla, another great monster film. No one is re-inventing the wheel here but the filmmakers set out and we're successful in making a fun and entertaining monster movie.

I first saw this film about 12 years ago on late night cable and I was hooked. The killer is badass and so is the truck. I love the comedy in this film. The 2 male leads have great chemistry and play off one another very well. The actress that joins them along the way is funny and attractive. It starts off as a road film and goes off into wtf am I watching status. Just a very entertaining low budget film which makes it an instant classic with me. I have it among my repeat Halloween watch lists even though it's not technically a Halloween type film. I would definitely recommend this film to any horror film.

This film should have had everything going for it. It has a great cast, a cult look and some gorgeous actresses. It needed more Boobs, blood and body count. With a cast featuring the great Teri Wiegel, I expected a titillating watch. It's an okay film. Pat Morita really hams it up and Karen Black is always a joy to watch. It has all the makings of a cult classic but sadly falls short of that status. All in all, if you are bored on a Saturday afternoon you might put this on for some background noise and discover it to be your cup of tea. I think if it had bloodied kills and more boobage it would have achieved cult status.
