Nothing new but a new twist. I really liked the opening sequence which suggests what will take place in the future. And the introduction of the protagonist and his buddy is between pathetic and brilliant. Harlan and his "manager" Yuri are moving through the Balkans taking advantage of village superstitions by pretending Harlan is a dampyr who is expunging vampires from local graveyards. Eventually, Harlan learns he is actually a dampyr and has to fight a Master of the Night.
Apparently this film had a cost of fifteen million dollars, and you can see every dollar, or Euro, on the screen. I had no expectations for this film, and watched because it was leaving Netflix. I was surprised to see Stuart Martin who I recognized from Miss Scarlet and the Duke. And I found not only was I entertained, but I enjoyed it.
The end of this film makes clear that sequels were to follow. Perhaps additional films or a miniseries on Netflix. I haven't seen any suggestion either is in production, so just enjoy this solo effort.

Just about the last film Lucille Ball made before the start of "I Love Lucy." Also the "last" to depict her as a beautiful girl with the brains to become an agent of Scotland Yard. The plot of an unknown serial murderer with the wrong man accused is reminiscent of a Hitchcock film.
One of the strengths of this film is the cast. George Sanders (Robert Fleming)is excellent and possesses the necessary charm to sweep women off of their feet. And Charles Coburn (Inspector Harley Temple) has the gravitas to portray a head of Scotland Yard. And the rest of the top cast members-Cedric Hardwicke, George Zucco, Alan Napier, and Boris Karloff-are at the top of their game as supporting actors. Karloff must have had a wonderful time with this film as his character chews enough scenery ensuring that he won't be forgotten.
Lured is an excellent film with enough suspense mixed with a dash or two of humor to keep an audience entertained throughout.

Glad the show is back, but this is more of a recap than anything. The brief scenes with Ford and Mirren remind us why they are the protagonists. We are drawn to them immediately, just as we are repulsed by Dalton and Flynn.
There is a brief scene with Sheriff McDowell (Robert Patrick) and Father Renaud (Sebastian Roche) to remind us of the mindless cruelty used in dealing with Native Americans. And Spenser Dutton (Brandon Sklenar) is making his way home working on a cargo ship, while his pregnant wife is trying to leave England and travel to America.
If these episodes keep moving at the current glacial speed, we likely won't see the families reunited until the last episode. What we all want is the final showdown between Jacob Dutton and Donald Whitfield. If viewers don't see the possibility of that then there is chance viewership will drop off. Two years is a long time to wait between seasons, and I for one want to see action.
