Okaaaaaaayyyyyyy...... soo that was absolutely CHAOTIC. I don't know what the film makers were on when cooking up this movie, but it didn't come out bad at all. I can see why this movie won so many awards because it deserved them! The practical effects are great, the make-up is great, the sound design is great, and the acting performances were PHENOMENAL! It's just hella disturbing and has a lot of life lessons of sexism in a way, and being addicted to drugs, in a way. It's very mind bobbling and has so many b00bies, that I can't count how many of them there are throughout the movie. The ending of the film was something else, though. It was like watching a movie made by a bunch of people who escaped the insane asylum and made a movie. It was so insane in all ways thinkable. Margaret Qualley should have won an Oscar award for this movie. I know Demi Moore did, because she was also fantastic, but Margaret Qualley was like watching an actress that should have won 5 BAFTAs and 3 Oscars before this movie even went into production. It's ABSOLUTELY insane on ALL levels but everything about it is still amazing throughout the whole experience.
Okay. Sooooo... uuhhhhh..... how do I start talking about this movie? Well, it's DISTURBING AS FUDGE for a start. There wasn't as much gore in this movie as I was thinking. Honestly, I don't even know what I was thinking when going to the cinema to watch this. The concept is not that bad. The REAL question is: Was it executed well enough to be a "good" movie? Well, it depends on what kind of horror/thrillers you are into. There's a scene in the middle of the movie that made me cringe. The ending wasn't really what I was expecting, which can be a good and a bad thing. I don't know if it is a good or bad thing in this case. The movie was pretty underwhelming, which I think was just trying to build the tension. When blood WAS on the screen, though, there wasn't loads of it. But there was an "injury" (not a kill) that was pretty painful to watch. If you have seen the movie, then you probably know which one I'm talking about. I'm talking about the bean bag one. If you know, you know. The "twist" at the end of the movie wasn't something that I saw coming. I wouldn't say that this is a good movie, but I wouldn't say it's a bad one either.
I didn't like Winnie-The-Pooh: Blood And Honey, but this movie is not talked about enough. They took everything that was wrong with Winnie-The-Pooh, and learned from their mistakes. And actually made a descent horror film. I wouldn't say it's a *slasher* movie, but it has elements *of* a slasher movie. There is actually a story, instead of abandoning your setup and main character for some random b*tches in the woods that have NOTHING to do with the source material and make THEM the main focus of the movie (I'm looking at you, Blood And Honey). They actually use the source material and craft a story that actually takes inspiration from the original Disney movie. Oh, and by the way, there's no Neverland. It's mentioned throughout the film about a billion times, and the main reason that Peter Pan is killing people, but we never actually see it. I just thought I would mention that. Tinker Bell, though, is a completely different story. "She" is more disturbing than Peter himself. And "she" actually makes an impact on the story. The gore, though. Oh my God. The kills in here do NOT hold back even when people aren't killed and just injured. Now, it's nowhere near Terrifier level gore, but it's still kind of over the top. The main problem with Blood And Honey, (other than its existence) is that it took itself WAY too seriously. This film does the same thing, but in a good way. This is by far the best public domain horror film yet.
