I was finally able to catch Phone Booth in the theaters, having been expecting its release since before the Beltway Sniper hit. Being a big fan of Kiefer Sutherland (because of 24) and having enjoyed Colin Farrell's performance in Minority Report I went in with high expectations, and was NOT dissapointed.
My only gripe was the sound mix for The Caller's (Sutherland) voice, youll see what I mean once you see it. Aside from that, the movie really shows what kind of film-making can be done with a small budget.
Its tight and manages to keep you in the edge of your seat for the duration. I was specially surprised at this, because being a fan of Kiefer Sutherland, I was already well aware of his voice and who he was, which sort of spoils a certain aspect of the film, and the movie was STILL able to maintain my attention and the tension in me, i can only imagine what someone that might not recognize the voice might feel when watching it!
Overall a very solid film...

I finally saw this film about a week ago. I must say i was expecting a bit more, in terms of plot development, which tends to follow a predictable line, but i was truly *AMAZED* at the beautiful cinematography and art direction of the movie. Also most of the movie is very clever and quirky, which i loved, the only thing that kept me from "giving" it a perfect 10 was that it drags a bit towards the end, and the predictable plotline/ending. Otherwise, its PERFECT. Also, i thought the sex scenes (particularly the orgasm montage and the bathroom scene) couldve been trimmed a bit, giving the movie a PG-13 rating which wouldve been more deserving IMO, as they really served no purpose at all to the plot, but hey, its a french movie after all. :)
All in all, beautiful visuals, beautiful and great actress, beautiful music, etc.

This is another movie that was hurt by its advertising. I see a lot of negative comments here that spawn from people thinking this was going to be a "revenge" thriller... when instead they got an excellent character study. I didnt go see this in the theaters because i expected this to just be another crappy Ben Affleck movie, but my brother saw it and enjoyed it, so I decided to get the DVD, im VERY glad i did! The characters are very solid and multidimensional, and Ben and Sam handled themselves very well! The editing was interesting, and the supporting rules solid.. 7.5/10 IMO!
