This show ran on CBS, either right before or right after "Freshman Dorm". Unfourtunately, I've read the propaganda prepared by the show publicity department, I Feel qualified to pass judgment on it. Produced by the ubiquitous Aaron Spelling, the show stars a veritable bevy of has-beens who were on the comeback trail in 1992. Jennifer Beals ('Flashdance' came 7 years before), Drew Barrymore (who we all now love), and the tasty snack Brian Bloom (who at the time was conspicuously absent from his roles in soap operas three years prior to this), the poorly dressed Lisa Hartman and some chick named Tuesday Knight. Lisa plays a retired prostitute who gets some boarders so she can afford her knockout house on the beach. Jennifer Beals is an attorney whose fiancé had recently died. Drew plays an aspiring actress (how fitting considering her reputation back then). I, for one, can't wait for this to be released on DVD. There's nothing like a show about plastic California people to help you forget your woes! B+

I have this movie taped from the early 90's off of the lifetime channel, before lifetime became as pathetic as it now is. This movie rocks! it is a definite favorite of mine. It is heartwarming, charming, and hilarious. my best friends are all like the character of keri! but more importantly, Ricki Lake is so great! she plays the role of a lonely twenty-something so well! and it strikes a nerve for anyone that is fat and has had troubles getting the perfect guy to notice you. it is a true picture of what some people will do (i.e. me) in times of desperation! It's funny at the same time. such as the cute way ricki continually bumbles around is clumsy. i guess that might just be part of the role, however, it really makes me giggle and take awe. my boyfriend and i cuddle up and watch this movie a lot during the winter, it is a great blizzard movie! make some s'mores and get some cocoa, this movie will match the warmth you start feeling! the character of rob, played by the very beautiful craig sheffer, is a fun thing too. he's a very charming person, and it's so good that grace ends up getting a guy like rob and not someone like olivia!

i originally thought "the outsiders" was a great movie. that was also in jr. high, now in college, i must say that this movie does not compete with other movies. it follows the book to an extreme and the lines and scenes feel forced. catchphrases flourish in this movie but the lines, "Stay Gold" and "This one's for Johnny!" are the most remembered. Matt Dillon was a very cheesy actor in his earlier career, and though this movie hosts a whole lot of popular names it isn't worth seeing... unless you are very hard up for some barely pg-13 young rob Lowe cleavage. the movie has a good heart but shouldn't be taken seriously by anyone above the age of 16. it was made in the early eighties, takes place in the early sixties, and was written in the mid-sixties. the movie ages well for its heavy load of cheese, but that shouldn't convince anyone to buy it, rent it only if hard pressed between porky's and James and the giant peach. also, though most was filmed in California the Oklahoma scenes are present. the white trash remarks are good but the white trash twang is over done, even if you are like me and come from a family like johnny and pony-boy's... yeah, this movie also leaves the very inspirational name of pony-boy for us to gawk, cherish, and ridicule at the same time. 4/10 rating
