So first off I have read most all of Stephen King's books over the years and have enjoyed most of the, obviously some more than others.
Of his newer books (say the last 10 years), this one is one of my personal favorites, it really surprised the heck out of it.
I was looking forward to the TV show since I loved the book so much so I watched the first 2 episodes. What did I think about the first 2? They where average for me, there wasn't enough to get me super hooked, but I also know that many shows take awhile to get going, so I figured I will give it some more time to get going.
And I am sure glad I did give it more time because episode 3 was fantastic! Things got going a little more and you learn more things from the books in this episode and some great stuff happens that will have you itching for episode 4! I really hope they keep it going!
The acting has been good, the camera work has been decent and the audio has been good. I was not sold on the atmosphere of the first 2 episodes but with episode 2 things improved a good deal. I still would like it to be a little darker and creepier but this 3rd episode was a nice improvement and it if keeps going with the quality that episode 3 had I will be itching to watch all the remaining episodes.
In the end, the first 2 where average but the 2rd one was fantastic, a slow burn but worth it imo so far, lets hope they keep up the momentum that episode 3 brought to the table!

This movie is fantastic, Bill Paxton does an amazing job on this movie, not only does he do a great job acting but he also was the Director if you can believe it!
It still blows me away to this day how someone can act so well in a movie that he also Directed himself, what an amazingly talented guy Paxton was, RIP.
The Direction is top notch, the Acting from Paxton and Mathew are both amazing (as is the acting from the youngsters during the scenes when they where kids), the atmosphere is thick, the story is awesome and the violence is well done.
If you want a creepy movie to watch that has great acting, check this one out, it is without a doubt one of my favorite movies of all time and was such a nice surprise. I end up watching this movie at least once every 2 years, it is one that has great replay value, I keep appreciating new things in this movie every time I watch it.
I don't like to spoil anything about the story of movies on these reviews, so I won't say what it is really about... other than it is creepy and that it is about a Father and his 2 Sons and some Nastyness the Father not only gets into but also makes his son's stick there hands into as well.
10/10, Two Thumbs way up, check it out!

I see lot's of people talking about how this movie is either left wing or right wing politics and it is neither imo. It is more just showing the issues during times when people stand on different sides of things.
It is not taking anyone's side and is just showing both sides during an intense or trying time.
The Acting is fantastic all across the board, the Cinematography is great, the writing is well done, the Atmosphere is good, the dialogue and humor are good.
It has a wonderful mix of at times being serious, the funny and then intense and goes back and forth between these extremes very well.
This will be a dividing film I feel like, although I don't think it should be. I don't see Ari Aster taking either side of things in this film. He is just showing both sides of things and how out of control things can get at times.
Instead of thinking it is more one political side or another, maybe step back and toss your believes to the side and take the movie for what it is at its heart.
This is much more enjoyable than his last movie imo and up there in quality of Hereditary and Midsummar for me.
It is a Drama, Western, Comedy Gumbo pot mix and I loved it, the movie had me laughing at times, while at other times had me feeling more serious, while other times a little creeped out, well done Ari!
When I first was reading about this movie I saw so many different views and thoughts, some saying it is "ANTI TRUMP!" and then others saying "IT IS PRO LEFT WING!", then others saying it is "Pro Covid", while others saying it is "Anti Covid". Then of course some saying it is "Pro Black Lives matter! While others saying it is anti Black Lives matter". People it is no of these things, they are part of the movies but he is not saying one is right or one is wrong.
Well I happen to think this is non of those things, it might have elements of each of those in it but I don't see this movie taking a side in any of it, instead it is just showing you how things play out in this small place during the Pandemic and how crazy things can get when Two opposing sides go at each other after being cooped up and start to really stand up for what they believe is right.
I don't know if I have ever went from laughing to feeling awkward, to feeling serious and feeling strange all withing a few minutes of each other.
