I am half Japanese, so origami was a part of my cultural upbringing. I sat down to watch this movie mostly on a whim, figuring that I already knew everything there was to know about this craft. Boy, was I wrong. I was in a state of continual awe throughout this documentary. I had no idea that origami had been taken to such amazing heights. Not only is it a beautiful art form, but it is also being used as a tool for education, for research, for mathematical and scientific theories. You will see origami that moves and transforms. You will see spectacular "paper sculptures" that you would never even imagine was created simply by folding one piece of paper, with no cuts or adhesive. I am so glad this documentary was made because I never would have known how much this Japanese art form has evolved. The music and narration in this documentary are also quite eloquent and beautiful. I hope more people will see this inspiring film!

I'd like to preface by saying that I rate on the low side, so an 8 is reserved for the more exceptional of films, and this truly was an exceptional film. I liked this movie so much that I insisted on watching it again the next day to share with my parents. They loved it too.

Initially, the premise seemed a bit formulaic: a mother hires a stranger to play the part of her son's estranged father for a day. However, the storyline exceeded my expectations by taking some refreshingly unexpected turns. This was nothing like a cookie-cutter Disney family movie. The execution of the film was especially effective in how certain scenes were allowed to play out without any distracting music or meaningless dialogue; long silences and exchanges of looks between characters evoked so much of what the characters were feeling.

The casting was amazing, and all of the main characters are so endearing, you can't help but root for them. The actors' emotions truly resonate, and I defy anyone to sit through this movie without a tear in their eye!

Now, admittedly, this show may appeal to a slightly more female audience, but I think men may appreciate ..well, the sex...(uncensored versions can be a bit graphic with nudity) and the comedic aspect of the show. The writing is truly phenomenal, with some of the funniest lines I've ever heard.

For me, this show is so great because it hits just about every dating/relationship issue I've ever had right on the head. If I'm going through a difficult breakup, I watch an episode, and realize that I'm not alone.

The show is hilarious in its sometimes shockingly straightforward discussions on dating and sex. It also touchingly portrays the friendship between four loyal friends: Carrie- the main character, a writer for a dating column who can never seem to find the right guy; Miranda- the self-assured lawyer; sexually liberated Samantha, and the hopeless romantic, Charlotte. You will come to love these women like your own best friends. No one series has ever made me laugh and cry so much.
