I watched this in the 80s on rented on VHS when I was about 8 years old. I then watched it again in my teens in the late 90s.
25 years later it showed up on Amazon Prime and all I could remember from it was Bubba Smith from nowhere coming at the villains with a tank at the end.
This is a very forgettable movie, Bubba Smith for some reason spends the entire movie running about in Spandex Yoga pants with socks that go up to his thighs. He is supposed to be a police detective working with the FBI and he is sitting there being chewed out by his captain sitting there in Yoga pants repeatedly and nothing is said to him.
What I didn't notice when I was 8 years old was the amount of innaporpriate sex references there were in this film.
The first brawl takes place in a stripclub with the strippers, naked, fighting people with full things jangling on them the entire time. Then they go to an adult movie theatre for no reason whatsoever with an adult movie playing in the background when there is a random shoot out inside of there.
Then they twice go to adult "toy shop" to meet with informants. And you see the motorised toys in full frontal view of the camera with the actors in the background to them.
It feels weird and inappropriate it all being there for what was a standard 80s 48hrs style clone buddy cop movie, it just feels like the makers were trying to ensure they received an R rating so shoehorned all this in at the last moment. As there are barely any action scenes in the movie and they are very tame by movies of the time.
Its worth a watch on Amazon prime, but nothing more than this.

I have been waiting for this Netflix documentary ever since the trailer was released in early May.
I have since 2023 watched every documentary, news channel interview and YouTube commentary/video on the Titan submersible I can possibly find. I would say this Netflix documentary is one of the worst I have seen.
It is far too superfluous and seems to want to say "Stockton Rush, what an arrogant fool" throughout as its one core message for everything. It is a standard hit piece documentary and nothing more than this.
I would say a significantly better documentary to watch is the Discovery Channels Documentary titled "Implosion: The Titanic Sub Disaster" or the "ACE" YouTube channels extended hour long interview with Karl Stanley titled "A Sub Expert Tells The Truth About Ocean Titan Submarine" or any of the interviews with James Cameron. They are all significantly better than this.
The discovery documentary had interviews with the Coastguard investigators as its main source of comment. They were independent experts. This throughout had former staff of OceanGate trying to shift all blame onto Stockton and try and display how awful of a person he was to work for and communicate with.
Stockton Rush was clearly the one at fault and was clearly a problematic person. But other documentaries let you make this conclusion for yourself as opposed to coming at you like a bull in a China shop stamping it in your face with no tact or subtlety.
Honestly, I would say for this documentary, I wouldn't bother with watching it. Get your hands on the Discovery Channels Documentary instead. It is quite easy to find and has been repeated on HBO, The BBC and can be found on Amazon Prime Video too.

Hell must be freezing over as Fred Olen Ray has made a good movie... In a career spanning 40 years and 167 movies, all of them bottom of the barell style bad. Movies so bad they make Uwe Boll's House of the Dead seem like Martin Scorsese made it in comparison.
The Shooter 1997 is the outlier to the 167. This was very good. A clear 6/10 movie but given the surprise of who made it. I gave it an 8.
Michael Dudikoff from American Ninja fame plays a lone gunslinger passing through town who hears a woman being assaulted on the outskirts and comes to her rescue, killing the five men attacking her in the process. It turns out one of the men he killed was the son of an infamous criminal, played by William Smith, who had been menacing and terrorising over the town. On hearing his son is dead he swears revenge on Dudikoff.
This film had a vibe similar to Clint Eastwoods High Plains Drifter, and I enjoyed every minute of it. It made me eager for more Michael Dudikoff westerns.
If Mr Olen Ray ever reads this review, please make some more Westerns as these seem to fit your style of direction.
