Seven Cemeteries is a really fun shoot 'em up flick with a hispanic theme. If you're serious about film, don't bother. This isn't for you. If you like silly, fun, action movies that don't take themselves seriously then this is right up your alley. This is a movie to enjoy with friends and chill out.
Danny Trejo pretty much plays Danny Trejo. Just got out of jail. Comes across a woman in distress and reluctantly comes to her aid. His new (old) posse are a hoot. I won't say much more because I don't want to spoil anything. The blood and gore might be a bit much for people who don't see that stuff very often, but we all thought that it added humor (intentionally).
It was much better than I expected. .

It's a combination of zany low budget exploitation comedy with some good Zombie FX. The zombies are a little scary and that tone mixes well with the funny stuff. I had a blast with it.
It's not brilliant cinema. So if you forget all of that and just agree to strap in for the ride, it's a blast. They've taken the concept of the zombie in a drum from the first movie and are using that to create sequels using other zombie drums. That's a great idea for sequels. It works.
A lot of the jokes are in the same vein as the old comedies that ran late on USA Up All Night. Instead of kids mingling at a resort, they're mingling at a campus just before a rave. A lot of it is very silly, but sometimes silly is fun.
I think there are times when the actors deliberately delivered the worst possible readings of lines just to make fun of the crummy acting in bad old movies. There's some funny bits. But - if you are not up for stupid and corny, then you won't be able to laugh.
The zombies look great. A+ there.
