I live in a home with people who LOVE this show. Freaking love it. So I have been subjected to MANY episodes.
Though my opinion has almost definitely been soured by the nonsense the creators have engaged in (spoiler: NFTs), I am going to try to analyze the show as it is, ignoring the scams.
This show is watchable. It has some decent jokes, but those jokes are few and far between. The character designs range from actually kind of cool to forgettable to OH MY GOD WHAT AM I LOOKING AT, GET IT AWAY FROM MY EYES (hi Hippocampus!!) and the only outlier is Dionysus, who is possibly the most attractive man in any Fox animated series ever (it's not a high bar of course, but he does surpass it by quite a bit).
I wasn't disappointed by this show, I just feel at worst like I wasted my time. Of course shows don't have to have a deeper meaning or bigger purpose or even be clever, and if this show just wants to have a bit of fun, there is nothing wrong with that. Unfortunately, though, the show is not at all fun. Hippocampus burned my eyes and I will never forgive him.
Anyway, the show has a hot Dionysus and that's why I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 3.

Overall just kind of...meh. It has an interesting concept at first, however it never really connected. Jokes are thrown at you every second but the vast majority of them fall very, very flat and the characters are pretty much one-note. It feels very safe and corporate. Unfortunately that has become the status quo for adult animation, but just because I expect something doesn't mean I don't want it to change.
I've seen some call this the "adult version of Gravity Falls" but if that would entail annoying characters, outdated humor, and the ugly animation we've come to expect from Fox, I think I'll stick with the non-adult version. It's disappointing that in a medium with so much potential as animation, we are constantly getting samey shows like this. They may take a different approach, sure, but they end up at the same destination.
I don't doubt that the show gets better but I'm not in the mood to sit through more of it.
The ONLY thing I actually liked was that hot dude with the parrot. I cannot remember his name but I liked his cheekbones and voice quite a bit.
