Chuck Conners,Albert Salmi,Woody Strode,Pat Wayne,Slim Pickens,Ricardo Montalban.Sound like a good show?How about throwing in a little Richard Crenna and John Huston.Mix it all together with international star Bekim Fehmiu and you have the "Deserter".You have seen it before and if you take time, you will see it again.A worthwhile oater that is very watchable(The gatling gun scene that has the cast looking right at you),and enjoyable.I have to agree w/previous comment of the film being too short and not getting to know the charactors very well(they were good and could have been great!).This however was a Dino de Laurentis production,and he doesn,t do westerns very well.Check it out anyway.

Billed as the "best show you not watched" by more than one critic,it is now fine'.For approxmately 8 years the show, for some reason,was constantly on the bubble with the ratings game.But for 8 years a solid show overcame this and proved there was a market for "quality television".The show was based on a novel by David Simon(excellent reading),and introduced us to some very memorable charactors.Munch,Frank,G,Megan,Beau,and the BIG MAN are about as well assembled as the compleate show.This, a Barry Levinson(Diner,Rain Man)project,was as compelling,real,on the edge as TV has ever been.Some videos of selected shows can be found,and reruns on court tv are nice.However,if you did not follow the series the impact of the movie will only be another movie.Alas ,the executives succombed,and the show was cancelled due to the ratings and of all shows-"Nash Bridges".I think I may be sick again!

If you haven't seen this film and are a baby boomer-shame on you.So clever, fun, and enjoyable. Don't take yourself serious and enjoy many many laughs. Trinity and Bambino were almost household names to spaghetti western buffs.
