The real story is the millennial that thinks because she has a high IQ and a good science education she is 'smarter' than everyone around her and can think her way out of any problem. I found watching her ignore all the offers of help from her small circle frustrating in the same way I do when I see teenagers condescend to people decades older than them in real life.
It felt like I was watching a real person make the mistakes real kids her age make; and when she thoughtlessly gets her new friend thrown into jail despite multiple warnings and flags that also felt like a scenario I've seen on the news and with teenagers quite often but something they rarely learn from until it is too late. Maybe, on Disney; it will get an audience that can learn from Riri's mistakes instead of making then in real life.
It also deals with the subject of AI and being able to differentiate between that and interaction with actual people.
Production quality is obviously high, acting quite good (when you want to slap the characters it means they've done their job of portraying haughty petulance well).

Story is really good, acting is really good, editing seems well done and the pace is good, but souch od the movie is an apparently black screen with dialogue it is frustrating at times to watch. It's nothing to do with settings on the TV or laptop, they've simply made the picture so dark you cannot tell what is going on in many scenes. Maybe that is meant as a way to put you in the characters shoes? Surely not or the kill rate would be lower...
However I did appreciate that this shows an aspect of warfare little touches on up to now: use of civilians to do what the officials don't want to get caught doing,.and the infighting in the British government.

Anyone who has ridden a horse would see most of the things this character does are dangerous and irresponsible. The continual risking of other people's lives and / or bodily integrity makes a viewer want to throttle Lucky, but; what is worse is children might watch and not understand you cannot treat wild animals this way.
I suppose the idea is that children watching should be old enough to understand it is just a cartoon? Not so sure, given Lucky has zero understanding of the danger she puts everyone around her in and never takes any responsibility for anything whatsoever.
The original spirit movie might have been sad but it was at least more realistic despite a talking horse.
