As i have said before, when the writer is the Director, dont expect much and thats what we have here. There needs to be a "common sence person" position in film making. Yup, a person whos responcibility is to call out the garbage as it happens so it can be corrected, thus avoiding a cluster fk like we have here.
An aging woman needs to dial things up as her tv show is losing ratings. She decides on a road trip to interview a Doctor doing experiments on Animals. Ok, doesnt contact the guy in advance, shows up without a film crew? Serious rookie writer? Oh this is going to be a great tv show! Ok, dude is dead. Spiders all over, they decide to stay for awhile?
Ok, a fresh decent idea for a movie. Bad script leaves actors on their own. More or less unknown cast, other then Chelsea Greenwood who i have seen before & who does a great job here, as usual. The movie does have cool set location and decent camera work. The lighting isnt too good and the sound is horribile. You cant watch this late night. I had my 5.1 100 watt per channel cranked just to try and understand the whispering by folks with extreme accents. Gather 6 Cajun people from the Louisiana Bayou mix the sound so everything is twice as load as the vocals, thats about what you have here. The sound folks killed this movie. Ok, CGI on par to maybe stuff being done in the early 90s? Yeah, a good 35 years behind. Made it look like an early Full Moon movie. Its just like landscaping. If you cant afford to do it right, then make other plans. The cheesey spiders put this in the sub B movie bracket.
The ending. As thought money ran out and the credits roll. Much like many Hammer films. At home we refer to this as a "Hammer ending". You endure 90 minutes, then in the last 2 minutes everything is resolved. Just like most films of the 1930s.
Is short, the Common Sence person would have been all over this. Maybe i need to start a business? Producers Ego Deflating LLC?
Its just amazing how folks can do this and really feel that its good. Unfortunately there are many people making movies that just arent very good at it.

This is a rather unique movie as its very much like a modern version 1960s horror movie. Missing is the excessive nudity, gore, language and screaming that has become far too common in most current films. It reflects back to a time before all that began and acting, set design, lighting, camera work and a decent storyline were all that was needed.
Being a film collector i loved seeing some Hammer actresses after all these years. Many of the cast are unknown but did a nice job. Overall the film has a nice look to it. Not many special effects but at least no cheesey ones. Most of the film is shot inside whats supposed to be a castle, more gothic shots would have helped.
I am surprised by the bad reviews here, it took about 5 minutes to relize it was a made for TV movie. Had most watched it on Sifi Channel I wonder what their impression would have been? Sort of like a 90 minute episode of Supernatural?
Ok, researchers go to Wales as a Paranormal Investigation team. They are sent to a castle to check out reports of hauntings. From there the fun begins.

Its amazing to see a film this bad. It lacks everything, makes no sence and ends suddenly.
An American girl inherits the worlds ugliest house when her instatutionalized dies. She tells the lawyer she was unware of the house, but then later contradicts that in storytelling.
The house is overdone in cheap stone and brick, tacky tile in the shower, bars on the windows, just a real bad choice. No doubt owned by someone making the move.
Ok, we get to the house, an anoying neighbor keeps showing up and tells the girl that some evil force controling her and the house will try to take her over.
Bad writing, horribile sound mixing. Location is bad as its mostly inside the ugly house. The camera work is nice. The lead male actor has got to be the most soft spoken, mumbling British actor ever, you can rarely understand him. The lead actress Elena Delia does a nice job, i think she is one to watch to see what she is in next. Very cheap special affects to the point it makes a Charles Band movie look big budget.
It is getting to the point that i may check IMDB prior to watching a movie, to avoid movies where the Writer & Director are the same person as you have here. The end result is something that makes no sence. One guy had a vision that he expressed poorly and appears isnt very good at it anyway.
Avoid trying to watch this late night. The sound is so bad i was up and down on the volume the entire time. Not like you will understand what its about anyway.
