Perfect rendition of how mankind is fatally flawed. Makes me sad to be human. I hate war on the street, the state, the country, across continents and the world. Nobody 'wins' unless you're profiting from manufacturing and selling weapons. Profiting from war/hate/conflict - it's disgusting.
Artistically this story is a triumph. My children, now in there 20's, had no concept of nuclear weapons or nuclear war. And I preferred it that way, but this was a wake-up call to them. Fantastic performances from the entire cast. Epic story as ever from Christopher Nolan. Incredible detail. Perfect performance of a disgusting reality.

This is going to sound extreme. But I see the pyramids of Egypt and wonder how a primitive society achieved such a feat. If Alien (1979) was releases in 2021, It would still be a feat of design, suspense and sci-fi genius. Absolute classic, absolutely years ahead of its time.
I loved everything about this film - the cinematography was beautiful, the casting was perfect, Belén Rueda's (Laura) was fantastic and it was a just a great story. Half way through the penultimate scene I still couldn't predicted the conclusion. Too many times, in big budget Hollywood movies, I've got the whole thing wrapped up in the first 30mins but not in the Orphanage.
A friend warned me 'it's not a horror.' He was right it's a dark, captivating thriller, a classic and a must see.
P.S. If you can't speak Spanish, be prepared for half a screen full of subtitles that give you a split second to read them. I dropped my rating a star for this.
