I'm having a really hard time getting past the horrific makeup jobs on these stars!! We know they're older but I don't know what the makeup department was thinking. Once I can get into the story I'll edit this. I do like that the cast is people above 40 years old. I do like the odd cast blend. In the golden age of movies older stars could still find work even if it was "the grand parent". I appreciate some talent vs base age/looks. No wonder younger people, as a large basic demographic, seem more superficial than previous generations on the whole. I really have no more to add but my required character count.

The story is adequate. When you've watched as many movies and read as many books as I have the story comes across basic, recognizable. My favorite part of this that kept me watching was the time it occurs. The costumes, set designs, props, style in general thrill me (I'm a tactile, visual artist). I also like the cast even though the leads seem flat it reads like a book. I can't explain that further. Saying that, I do like the cast. I don't know if I'd watch if it wasn't visually pleasing for me. Overall decent entertainment while otherwise engaged, artwork, cleaning, etc... There's definitely worse out there.

Tea Leoni and Tim Daley didn't first strike a chord of enthusiasm as a must watch addictive series... alas was I wrong. They both fill the lead rolls well. Tea also demonstrates her typical humor which is great when it's the entire basis. Nice balance of drama, humor, government vs domestic role, more relatable than some programs based in government service. Highlights the intricacies of trying to make it all work, in service, at home, as a partner, parent and individual. So yes truly surprised how much I actually liked it. Latest binge favorite. Thank the developers there are enough episodes and seasons to keep entertained for a few weeks.
