I don't know how to write a 600 character review for a movie that is so poorly done.
This is a genuiney insipid (dumb) movie. The leads are foolish almost from the start. Blondie develops a case of envy because her friend is placed where SHE wanted to be, so she turns evil because she's pouting that her friend got a better deal than her. She's a 14 year old, and that's what one expects. The whole movie is based on her feeling she was put in the wrong place so now everyone is going to suffer.
Poor acting, the two main leads are as wooden as a tree, with NO nuance. And the rest of the film is so banal, it could be watched with one eye on one's smartphone (where most people tend to keep their eyes these days). Boring. Banal. BAD.
I'm happy others like it, but it still has no substance.

So, it's a junk movie.
What that means is it's poorly written. As usual, if you were listening to this, you could not tell that this was around 900 AD. It sounds as though the script was written for people in the 21st century. This is an ongoing issue with scripts: people from 900 AD sound like some kid in 2025.
The movie is a hodgepodge of supernatural elements. And the actress who plays the lead looks just like the actress who played a demon in Season Of The Witch.
The plot moves quite slowly (and being older, when an OLD person tells you the movie is slow, you should consider that if you want your movies to be over in 100 minutes.
Tedious. Boring.

Thelma is a great movie, with people you enjoy watching.
That said, Most of these reviews are written by children under 50. And I would not expect them to see the "nuances." So, HERE'S THE REAL REVIEW, written by Richard Roundtree and June Squibb's CONTEMPORARY. Yes, I. AM. THAT. OLD.
What (most) younger people miss (and by younger, I mean 20, 30, 40 and 50 year olds is the awareness that life is so fragile that it could end 5 minutes from now. So, their reviews? Eh.
June Squibb is so angry she's been scammed that she decides to pursue them. Being 93, all she can commandeer is a a motorbike. And Richard Roundtree comes along for the ride, as it were. But, the frailty of old life forces one to do things differently, which is what this movie is about.
June, in one scene, gets a gun from a shelf, but she is so weak, she has to roll over and over to reach the other side of the bed and sit up. (Already people (20, 30 somethings are going "So what" and that is my point: these little idiots have no idea what's waiting for them down the road (if they make it). THIS is old life, kids, and Roundtree and Squibb are fantastic at conveying how dicey old age can be.
As Roundtree tells Squibb in a scene when she insists they can "do it": "We can't Thelma. WE'RE DIMINISHED." And until you get there, you can't even fathom how rough it is to be 90 in your body...but only 35 in your thoughts. Minds don't age, bodies do. Even at 60, if someone asked how old I felt, I would reflect and say...."Maybe 40" because that's how old age works. The young think the mind is old, but the mind (barring dementia) is FREE. One can be young inside the mind even as the body is saying, "you're not going to have another renewal. This is the final stretch for you." The movie is - to me - heartwarming. More than that, the pace is as slow as it SHOULD BE, given the age of the actors.
Just watch it. But for many of you: DON'T. It might be past your understanding. I saw the 3,4,5,6 ratings. Among Those, no doubt, are my utterly idiotic, not-yet-adult-40 year old great grandchildren. Young and dumb. OY!!
And remember what Bette Davis once said: "Old Age Is Not For Sissies." And it surely is not!
