Many people just don't get it. They may tell you this movie is too dark for children. Don't believe them. This is a great movie for children. Didn't "Snow White" have an old hag try to kill her with a poison apple. Death is darker than any "dark tone" laid out in this gorgeous piece of cinema, but "Snow White" didn't get as many negative comments as this movie. The kids that watched the original "Babe" have grown up, and so did the franchise. Sure the movie may have a few adult moments than the original; for instance, most kids won't understand the whole Mrs. Hoggett cavity search incident. But overall this movie presents the great moral that everyone should be good to each other over everything else, even to someone who might have done something wrong to you. That is a message that everyone, adults and children, should hear and consider. In the end, "Babe" achieves respect and gains a whole new group of friends from his good deeds, and everyone is happy including the audience. I think this movie will be considered a classic sometime in the future, as it should be.

This is one of those movies that gives increased returns with each viewing. Let me try to explain this rationally : Myron (Rex Reed) lets his female alter ego take over by getting a sex change. Though he outwardly becomes Myra (Raquel Welch), Myron still advises her in the quest to conquer the sexes and (parading as Myron's widow) take partial control of his uncle's acting school that was left to him by his aunt. Uncle Buck (John Huston) tries to prevent her/his takeover, and Leticia Van Allen (Mae West) is a hot to trot agent bedding every man in sight. Myra tries to make Rusty (Roger Herran) change his rather limited and homophobic views on sex, while trying to convince his girlfriend Mary Ann (a very young Farrah Fawcet) to mold her with feminist ideals. There are plenty of over the top fantasy sequences and Mae sings "Hard to Handle" with a row of tap dancers in tuxedos behind her. Just take the movie as it is, a swirling kaleidescope of blunders that somehow entertains those of us that worship in the temple of camp.

I saw this as a kid, on a double bill at the drive-in with "Superman". I thought it was funny then, and I think it is funnier now!!! Princess Dragon Mom is a prehistoric creature with tecnology that can destroy the world. She wants all humans to be her slaves. Inframan is then created and comes to save the day!!! I'm pretty sure this is where the idea for "The Mighty Morphin Power Rangers" was taken from. The english dub on this movie is hilarious. In one scene Princess Dragon Mom is supposed to say "You'll be destroyed", but while trying to match the lips of the japanese language, the english language part comes out as "You'll be de-stroy-yed". Lots of funny costumes (with tennis shoes peeking out at the bottom), cool sets that Sid and Marty Kroft would be proud of, and a couple of tough chicks in steel bras how could you not be entertained?!!
