Ellen Ladowsky and Greg Proops are the mainstays of this program, and they're an excellent pair. What I love about Ellen are her largely insightful views on courtship, I find myself often aggreeing with her comments about dating, however, I think sometimes, she overestimates the male psyche. I find she gives men too much credit for thinking things through. For example she'll say that a guy might be hurt or turned off by something a woman says, when really, a guy didn't listen that carefully or think that deeply about the implications. One more great thing about Ms. L, she's incredibly attractive. It's a rare treat to find a woman who is beautiful AND intelligent, and yet is still very down to earth, and modest. But then, enough of my gushing. Greg Proops is hilarious as the show's comedic talent, and I think this show is one to keep an eye on.
I'm a guy, and I'm totally hetero, but I LOVE Chris Hardwick. His witty, insightful commentary MAKES this show. Its the first thing I've ever seen him in, but I want to check out more of his work. I'm sure somebody else could write funny things for a different host, but no delivery could ever reach his level. Often the daters are mismatched, and I suspect that the powers that be do this intentionally, so that when sparks fly, we're there to see the action. What might be neat is if Chris Hardwick ever visited Rendez-View, which is another great show, a lot like this, except the date is critiqued step by step, which is neat. I would love to see an Uber Dating show, where they got everybody together, Greg Proops, Ellen Ladowsky, Chris Hardwick, and Aisha Tyler on ONE SHOW! It would be so sweet. Maybe Adam and Dr Drew could visit once in awhile. Often the daters are shallow and cheap, classless, charicatures of humanity. It's a total blast. If you haven't ever seen this show, or Rendez-View, do yourself a kindness, and check it out, you won't regret it.
As far as sequels go, it is par for the course. Here they had a great plot, and excellent possiblities but I think they could have taken it farther. There are tie-ins with the first and takes the conspiracy deeper. It's always good to see a lone wolf rise up and rage against the machine. Good times.
