OK. Right. I enjoy movies.

My tastes are a bit eclectic because I love so many genres equally and excuse so many of the errors made in film-making that others cringe madly over.

I forgive boom mikes that appear at the top of the screen and I excuse glasses that are half-filled one minute then, empty, then full again.

Filming is not a perfect art. Even CGI has its insufferably horrendous flaws which will never be 'just right' because there is still no way to capture the true essence of humanity.

But I don't mind CGI...it has its purpose in the development of film. How many times do we see fantasy backdrops and phony-looking rear projections in movies that we absolutely adore? I dare say...probably more than a handful.

So, here I am...from silent to the latest, from indies to major studio blockbusters, from historical, to romance, melodrama, film noir, slapstick, to science fiction, absurd cinema, adventure, psychological and thrillers, silents...I have room for all of them in my heart and mind.

After all, it's all fantasy and theater, isn't it? And isn't that why we watch?

DEBILITATING SHYNESS is a horrible condition

POWERFUL - in a sense, and very personally relevant to my experience as a painfully shy person. Paul's character explaining how he would peer out his window and watch others "enjoy" their lives was a spot-on with my experiences in my youth. I was a cheerful person inside, but being wholly introspective and over-analytical did not help by gaining several stone in those years. But I emerged eventually. Lost the weight! Probably a more common story than we imagine to many a young person growing up with the insecurity that plagued me. Well, that's enough about me.

ADRIAN SHERGOLD was brilliant, as were ALISON GROVES and SARA CLEE. Very moving and worthy play.

Impressive Landmark Film ♥

WOW - What a tremendous film I have discovered today. I cannot measure its merits with our 21st Century viewpoints or rule-books because of the time in which it was produced. Yet, I found a truly interesting story-line, though full of tragedy even until the end, it fleshed out the possible futures that our existence might have if such a calamity should strike us, in a way which dealt, in its own somewhat crude manner in our eyes, exposed the realities of our flawed human natures. I can't say enough about its excellence in the face of our cinematic infancy - as a truly memorable film.

The actors including excellent SIDNEY BLACKMER, the plot, the OUTSTANDING special effects are laudable!

Recommended to film historians and all.
