Sorry people. I just saw this at the G-Fest. It was a let down! It really was missing something... Godzilla wasn't mean enough. Sure the affects were good. But it lacked the mean spirited fun of GMK(last years choice for G-Fest). The focus on a repair guy and his father was boring. Was it suppose to be dramatic? Shusuke Kaneko is a better director and he added his own take to GMK. I could let the lack of violence slide IF there was an awesome monster for G to fight. I am bored with MechaG and Mothra. They just aren't exciting anymore. Oh, and the prior reviewers jab at Space Godzilla are just pathetic. Space G is my favorite Godzilla from the 90's and deserves a second look. Godzilla rules despite SOS. I hope the next outing is more exciting.

I don't believe the other negative review. I am a Jess Franco fan. I bought the Broken Dolls/Helter Skelter DVD. I suffered through Broken Dolls. I found Dolls to be one of the worst Franco movies. On a level with Justine and Virgin of the Living Dead. But Helter Skelter is great. It just exudes coolness. It has great visuals. Analia Ivars is totally hot. I could look at her for hours. And that is what Helter Skelter does. It dwells on lusty vixens bodies. It's very sensual. It doesn't have much of a plot and that is what Jess can do best. Take his obsessions to a new level and just focus on what he loves: sex and violence. It reminds me of his classics "Macumba Sexualis" and "Eugenie: History of Perversion". Helter Skelter has a great mellow experimental Jazz soundtrack and weird voice overs from De Sade. Highly recommended!

Evil Dead Trap raised the bar for horror films. The film is full of sick and twisted images. Some scary others insane. The eye popping scene is beyond words. I wish all horror films were on this level. But alas Exorcist and Omen are the norm and very boring. The other reviewer said he had to laugh at the ending. Some people laugh when they are scared. I say he couldn't handle evil dead trap. This movie may be a bit depraved but the best horror is. What I can't stand is big budget horror that doesn't pay off. People can learn something from the masters of horror... the Japanese and the Italians. Films like Blood and Black Lace, Deep Red Hatchet Murders, Demons, Entrails of a Virgin, Evil Dead Trap should be looked at as textbook horror by modern film makers.
