This is a great documentary which captures the life of legendary Blues singer/guitarist Sam "Lightnin" Hopkins. It starts out depicting Hopkins as a young boy when he first decides to become a musician and then goes on to show Lightnin' as an adult performing the blues. Hopkins is followed back to his home town of Centerville, Texas where he performs at a large outdoor Barbeque. It gives you a very personal and true feeling of who Lightnin' Hopkins really was and what his music stood for.
This film is truly a valuable piece of blues history and was captured brilliantly by the director/producer. A true classic!

I have read the other negative comments about this film and I must say I strongly disagree! I thought it was an interesting story with GREAT 3-D visual effects. Anyone who is interested in magic and the life of magicians would really enjoy this film. I think it is unfair to criticize this production as though it was some sort of fictional movie. It is simply telling the life story of two great modern performers of magic. My niece loved the beautiful 3-D effects and wanted to see it again!
Also, it is true that the two are gay and that the movie avoided mentioning it, but who cares? I actually think it was a wise choice to keep certain "personal" elements out of the story.
If you get a chance to see this movie and want to experience some of the best 3-D effects ever produced, by all means see it!! It is very impressive to say the least!

I had been reading all of the good reviews and high ratings for this movie and decided I had to see it. Big mistake!! This movie was honestly one of the worst films I have seen in months. It was boring, unbelievable, and cheesy. I am being totaly honest here. Do not waste your money on this crap! The various coloring in the film when it changed locations was very annoying. It looked as though they were using thirty year old film to shoot with. Micheal Douglas's character was basically a whimp! No wonder his daughter turned out the way she did. Her character was even more hokey and unbelievable. Basically, this movie sucked!
