I don't like westerns much, but this was a fantastic movie. It is about the effects of the Civil War on a family and what he can do.
The acting was incredible. I'm surprise the ratings were not higher than what is showing.
I highly recommend watching this movie to become more compassionate about those affected by any kind of war, etc.
The Special effects were fantastic and believable.
There are some things that were very emotional and you almost feel like crying because you feel their pain. I do not know if Natalie Portman got an Oscar for this performance, but she should have. But all the characters did a great job and I commend them.

I watched the whole movie but every five minutes I have the impulse to fast forward but since there are many famous movie stars in it I try to enjoy it. I failed and so did this movie. I was hoping that it tied together at the end and something positive would come about but only more negative situation occurred. They were good acting parts in sections but I'd rather watch a rerun of a past movie than watch this the first time.

If I only a good editor shortened this movie and put a better ending that tied it all together in a more clear way, I could see that this really could've turned out to be a really good movie.
